I made a thread on it but the dc at louisiana tech is a diaz guy and has some actual experince being a dc.
 
Very apprehensive still about Banda and Patke staying DC. Hope Manny doesn’t do that.

Diaz was going to hire blake baker as his dc. Ivins said he had been hearing the same and this was while banda was trying to decide what to do.

this was a worked out situation that required Rick agreeing to no buyout on the condition that his staph remained employed.

I'm just going off of the teams we played this year and how they're doing in their bowl games. (We already know MOST of the time we kept the opposition to at or lower than they're ypg and ppg averages).

BC's game...cancelled.
Duke game...raked up 56 ponts..yeah, I know, Temple. Didn't watch them this year at all, but both teams have the same record. Duke looked like crap in the first half, adjusted and had a points explosion in the 2nd half.
UVA game...took it to the mighty SEC and wiped that *** 28-0. This is after almost everyone (looking at Lee C.) on the college football live show before their game started stated...SEC vs ACC, always go SEC. :rolleyes:

Anyone who watched our game knows the defense gave up two scores in the first 3:30. First drives are always feeler drives, especially when there is a change at QB. The next drive was very short and set up by Richt's favorite QB. After that, the D did their job until they were wore out. This was even without Willis and most of the game, without Jackson. So you're putting a DL out there that has 1/2 of your backups in just to start and expect the same results as a full strength DL this year, you are kidding yourselves. I knew it wasn't a winning combo, but we still had a chance IF the offense could have at least scored a TD or 2, giving the D a rest and keeping the game close.

I've gone long winded enough, but our D was put into some pretty bad spots all year, and normally held our opponents to under their ypg/ppg average. In this day and age of college football, you're not going to be able to stop an offense all the time. We slowed everyone down more then enough that if we just had a average to good offense, I honestly think we win 10+ games including our bowl game.
