So can anyone shed light on UGA's S&C Program

Kirby Smart has hired Marshall's strength guy AND UCF's head guru in the weight room.

marshall and UCF?

coming from alabama he should only hire ELITE SC coaches.

They have the secret remedy. It's all confidential material workouts that are TOP SECRET.

Now Kirby Smart players will all be small and bloated because those guys don't know how to build muscle only like 5 SC coaches in the country know how ot put on muscle. the rest have zero knowledge on it. they're all hacks.

I know you're mocking, but Jesus are people in here stupid

The guy from UCF is \was a very good coach, UCF was always fast and physical. They had a lot of players test well at nfl combines as well, and most were 3* or below.

Maybe but had Richt made this hire there would be plenty crying about here

I can't believe Mark Richt passed on hiring Dr.Pat Ivey or Shannon Turley and instead is choosing to bring his UGA strength people who are also getting fired by Kirby Smart.

Shannon Turley would have been able to keep the old canes coming back to work because his training methods are cutting edge and even the NFL is copying it.

definitely appreciate all the tape and info you bring to the board. But outside of pete's report(which he's been wrong on a few), how do we even know Ivey had any interest in coming here?

He's unemployed and in Missouri...

oh so he doesn't have a family or life there or anything that he w&ould have to move.

Love how posters on here think we could literally have anyone in the country and it's us "passing on them" when they don't come here.

Unless there's actually reports saying he wanted the job then I don't believe it. It's not like we got a sorry staff. UGA has been no pushover in S&C. Certainly better than Swassey

its ******* MISSOURI!!

If the guy is as much of a competitive ambitious animal as he seems, it shouldn't be a hard sell to get him to come train kids from the most fertile recruiting grounds in the world... "you did an incredible job with kids from Missouri, now lets see what you can do with kids from SFL.."

the guy is smart, and coming here is a very smart move

That was my first thought. Imagine the outcry if we were "poaching" coaches from UCF.

Richt blew that sec champ game not one of his best moments
Yep. If they spiked the ball with 15 seconds left they would have had two shots at the end zone. I get he was trying to catch Bama's defense off guard but terrible call.

Three years in a row they had a RB tear a knee ligament. Marshall, Gurley, then Chubb. They were all contact injuries. That does not indicate S&C issues.

Conley was the weird one. He tore his ACL jumping in celebration after he scored a TD. The thinking was that it must have been partially torn before that happened.

Those are the major injuries I can recall.

Georgia OL have always been plenty strong enough. I remember about 4 or 5 years ago they had a starting line with 2 True freshman on it, and yet they were still dominating.

I will check with a good friend of mine who is a UGA alum and ask him his thoughts on the subject.
Good stuff here.

Got some insight back from by bud:

"Felder is really good. He did well with the young guys on the team. The DL was very strong. The OL struggled but did not seem to be strength issue but rather a coaching problem. Kelin Johnson is the real deal as well. When Richt brought him in they ramped up the lifting. Brought things to a new level."

Side note:
"Searels is a very good line coach as well".

Right because Shannon is just begging to come to Miami. Some of you need to realize not everybody thinks Miami is the best place in the world. Some people actually like the places that currently employee them. You guys just find a person and think "He should have hired him."

I know people down here dont understand but most of the country looks at south florida as a great vacation spot that is not a good place to live. Like Vegas, Mexico, Caribbean, etc. Certain people love it (ive lived in 3 of those), but many think its trash place to live.

Same here. I moved out of Miami back in 2008 to finish up school at UCF. I've lived in Texas and currently Washington. There are other places that are far better to live than Miami. It's great when you're in your early 20's. But when you're settled down, Miami sucks.

I was stationed in 29 Palms and have been to Vegas dozens of times. At this point, it's hard for me to want to even visit for a weekend let alone live there.

Yeah I lived there for a year. 6 months in Henderson and 6 months on Koval Ln where there used to be apartments directly behind the MGM Grand. It was fun (i was 22) but I would never stay there to live now.
