So are we going over 25 in this recruiting Class, IJS depth?

I looking at was committed, and what's out there, probation being over, shouldn't we over recruit to help build our depth, develop some of the lower recruits by redshirts, and therefore creating consistency.

Need OL Why can we not sign a top RB. We need a couple good ones with Yearby leaving Walton and Edwards will be gone next year. We continue to have 1,000 yard rushers and put RB in the NFL without beating them to death with the workload. WR and DB Sign well over the limit let attrition work itself out.
 
Richt has indicated he wants quality over numbers. If we have 32 slots (including the 7 backfill for 2016), I have to wonder if we can get 32 Miami quality prospects. In any case, it's a good position to be in, IMO.
 
I hope we dont overpopulate with a bunch of jags for depth... We need to hit on all. Plus i think we should get like 25-28 players dont make it to heavy unless we grab some JUCO and grad transfers I'm kool with that.

I think it all depends on who we close out with...

We currently got 20 kids committed... (Provided we keep everyone in class thus far)

At DB, we're looking to add Edwards, Hendo & Collier plus a JUCO CB.
(They're also taking a look at both Wright & ***an, I doubt we'll flip either of them.)

At DL, if we keep DJ, we may still add another DE in Jordan Wright.

At OL, a lot of it depends on obviously keeping Donaldson & if we land Slaton+Herbert... And if they just offered Gaynor they think he's a take & they still want Hillery & Dykstra.

At LB, I think they'll just keep who we got, but also keep tabs on Gary Johnson & few others... Jennings has in-home visits from Louisville & Miami this week & will still visit officially some time soon; he's an EE.

At WR, it's pretty much Harley, Holloman & Smith... They seem to be going all-in with Holloman & Harley.
I haven't heard or seen anything about Smith in regards to in-home visits or OV's at a later date, he's been all Bama thus far, I would be shocked if we landed him.

At RB, it's McFarland & Burns & I think we land both.

So, hypothetically speaking... Let's say we get all those targets we're after (minus the two FSU S's), that puts us at 32.

The class would look like this:

QB- Perry & Weldon

RB- Burns & McFarland

WR- Njoku, Harley, (possibly) Holloman & Smith

TE- Polendey & McKitty

OL- Donaldson, Hillery, Dykstra, Slaton, Herbert & Gaynor

DL- DJ, Garvin, Ford & Wright

LB- Steed, Jennings & Wilder

DB- Deejay, Bandy, Gibson, Carter, CJ Hendo, B Edwards, Collier & JUCO CB

P- Feagles

A bunch of these kids will be EE's too...

Realistically speaking, I don't think we'll land all of these kids... I'm holding out hope at WR but very doubtful of both Holloman or Smith, I think we get Harley though.

At TE, I think we get McKitty if Brewster leaves for Texas with Herman.

At OL, Pete says he thinks we'll get both Slaton & Hebert, we'll see how that plays out.

And at DB, I think we'll get Edwards, CJ, Collier & a JUCO.

@ El, I like your optimism at OL and DB. Guess we "have" to make a splash at WR in 2018. Need Holloman to make it a high quality WR class. Don't get the even the slightest impression Smith considering us. Landing CJ Hendo and Edwards the key to an elite DB class. If we can sign the kids listed we'll be a strong contender in 2018.
 
Max the fck out. Think of it this way: There has to be recruits out there who are better than Loftus and Henley and guys like that who don't belong at a marquee program. Upgrade your roster, Rick.

I'm way more optomistic about DB than I am OL...

I was just going off what Pete said about Herbert & Slaton, I personally don't think we'll get either of them, I just trust what Pete says cause he knows way better than I do.

At WR, I don't even know what to think... I'll just let it play out & see what happens lol

I was just going off what Pete said about Herbert & Slaton, I personally don't think we'll get either of them, I just trust what Pete says cause he knows way better than I do.

WR is definitely a worry, but they've slow played that Dingle kid so they must have something up their sleeve.
 
I'd bet money there's someone that is committing, that's not on anyone's radar. Happens almost every cycle

I personally think Walton will stay for his senior season. He's not THAT good

I expect HOMER to be a breakout player for us next year but agree we need to sign an elite rb and it can't be the 5'8 180 type either need another gamebreaker like Lamar, cooper, etc

I really don't understand this fantasy that at some point in the future we'll be turning away 5* guys because we took too many 3* guys last year. No reason to leave spots open. We shouldn't take JAGS instead of quality, but once the quality is signed lets fill the other spots.

Max out whether 5 are projects or not. Maybe 1 or 2 pan out and the others can transfer in a year or 2. Fill the roster.
 
And so maybe that DE that has an offer from Harvard could be a take . . . when they transfer we still want them to graduate to help our scores out.
 
'Ships are year to year. You max every year you can as it doesn't guarantee anything the next year for such player...
