Ridley and SBB were both signed sealed and delivered when Deen said that.

Its a catch 22... This form is a place where Cane fans can express their feelings towards the entire program rather its good or bad..I'm cool with thar... Its also a place where potentials come to see the culture of the program... Recruits choose a school but have to buy into the staff thats in place.. So if a recruit felt the same way as some of the posters in here felt... they would never consider going to the U.... What would be worst if they were on the fence and was influenced by the tone of this site...they would never buy into the staff hence end up going else where... So what do you do.. I'm all for the freedom of speech even if its in tow of an airplane... But I'm against the bashing of the staff...Shaq has committed to the U.. and its current coaching staff... If there is a new staff in place that we are comfortable with then Shaq would be committed to the U and that coaching staff... I'm under the opinion that no one here has the direct aurhority to change out the staff.. but the love that is shown in here at times can influence people like Shaq and I. . I hear what you're saying but do you read other message boards? (rhetorical) I have and do and those boards are just as bad. Granted, things are better when you're winning but every school message board has its fair share of angry message board posters. We do not have the monopoly on that - not even close.

Yes I have read other boards and I agree there is bashing. ..it a natural course when things aren't going the way we want it. But what we have to learn is to criticize right up to the point before it becomes bashing... once that line is crossed no one gains... we fret and worry over things we can not change... If you argue with your wife long and hard enough you start hurting your kids

Ex my pet peez is when Shaq starts getting tired he plays flat footed.. then at the snap he false steps... i tell him you are gonna be late on your heels and get ur *** whipped.. I have to be mindful of that thin line cause i know i have crossed it before with him and at that point I'm no longer helping him. .. and besides this is my favorite site and don't care about those others. ..lol... just kidding

It is extremely hard to coach or push kid at times which I have experienced. I for one, appreciate your perspective and sage advice, especially since it is coming from the father of a commit who has the ability to articulate a well received point of view, thank you UKW.

I generally love your posts and I agree about people going over board with conspiracy theories, but come on man.

Them boys were at a 7 on 7 event and everybody with breath under the sun on God's green earth believed they were going to commit to the Miami Hurricanes and within a week, after not committing on that day (an event which a certain someone happened to be present at), both of them were said to be souring on Miami. They didn't figure out the program was underachieving in a day. They have televisions. They visited for some of the games last season. They were aware of EXACTLY where the program was. They didn't somehow miss the bowl game or not hear about Louisville beating the absolute crap out of us and even still, they were widely believed to be cane locks MONTHS after that performance.

They went from being decked out in U gear on the regular to not wanting to be even close to the program in any way shape or form. Sorry, as disappointed as we all have been with the coaching staff, there are circumstances that probably happen in recruiting that you or I could never fully understand. It's too easy to simply say "we suck and they don't wanna be apart of the suck." That's what you say when we aren't properly aligned at the 2 freaking yard line, but this is different.

Like you said those kids love the U, but at some point it just probably hit them that what others were saying was in fact true, and this was a business decision. I know that money exchanges hands in big time CFB, I believe we ourselves just went through a whole ordeal dealing with that, and I know we can't compete with the SEC when some of this stuff goes on, but lets not forget that it hasn't been that hard to convince a local kid that there are better options out there than Miami the past decade, and there is no one to blame but the University of Miami. I just stated it in the, Brad Kaaya is a franchise type QB thread, we took one of the greatest players to ever play HS football in S Florida, and we are 6-3 his junior year. Kids wanna be playing for MNCs not some worthless bowl before the new year.

2016 is a while from now, but until Miami proves that it's the U, then this will happen. We wouldn't lose Matthew Thomas, Denver Kirkland, Alex Collins, Ermon Lane, Travis Rudolph, Travante Valentine, Dalvin Cook, Sony Michel, etc. if we were the U. These kids are old enough to know the 2001 team and they saw how on fire we were from 01-04...but what have we done lately? These kids don't want to see their draft stock fall and I don't blame them. Plus, Golden and staff have botched several high profile recruits who were on us just b/c we are Miami and we are in their backyard. We botched the Kirkland/Thomas deal. We botched the Valentine deal w/ Golden playing devil's advocate w/ PSU. We botched the Cook deal by not offering him until it was way, WAY too late. We botched the Rudolph deal by telling him he'll be a DB here when he wanted to play WR. We botched the Treon Harris deal by offering too late. We botched McFadden this year AND we're botching a legacy deal w/ Tim Irvin. I mean, we have no one, and I mean NO one to blame but ourselves regarding these recruits. Take the fan passion out of the equation for a moment...if you were a parent w/ a high caliber kid w/ a bright future, would you want him to play for a coach that's not known for player development and will compete to play in crappy bowl games???
