After 3 games and 1 real test, I'm looking at snap counts and other stats to glean the depth chart as the coaches see it.
QB
Tyler Van Dyke played all 82 offensive snaps against A&M.
Jake Garcia played 21 snaps in game 1 and only 3 snaps in game 2.
Jacurri Brown only has official snaps (7) in game 1, but he did line up for a play in game 2. There was a pre-snap penalty, and they scrapped the play.
RB
Henry Parrish has been the top back and is on track for a 1,000-yard season. But Jaylan Knighton seems like he will be getting a similar number of snaps soon.
Against A&M, Parrish played 48 snaps, carried the ball 16 times, and gained 85 yards (5.3 ypc). Knighton had 33 snaps (after only 13 in game 2) and 77 yards on 14 carries (5.5 ypc).
Thad Franklin had 22 snaps in game 1 (33%), 22 snaps in game 2 (27%), and only 1 snap in game 3 (which did not go well for him).
Devon Perry, Lucious Stanley, and Terrell Waldon IV have not played since game 1.
Don Chaney Jr. is due back around the North Carolina game. I expect we will ease him in over a few games, but we'll have to see what his cap is and how his snaps and carries affect the other RB, especially Franklin.
WR
Xavier Restrepo (61 snaps, 172 yards on 11 receptions) is out at least 6 weeks.
Michael Redding III (139 snaps, 105 yds, 8 rec) and Keyshawn Smith (147, 91, 6) have been the other 2 receivers on the top tier.
Jacolby George had a couple good moments in his first game back from suspension (25 snaps, 41 yards on 3 receptions).
Brashard Smith, whose drop ended the A&M game, has played 83 snaps on the season, gaining 79 yards on 9 catches.
Romello Brinson and Frank Ladson have each played 69 snaps this season. They have 5 receptions for 61 yards between them.
Colbie Young has not played since game 1. Isaiah Horton, who was suspended for game 1, has not played an offensive snap yet.
TE
Over the first 3 games, Will Mallory's share of the snaps at TE has increased. This is in contrast to what many of us expected, which was that Elijah Arroyo would become more of a TE-1a. Arroyo has been a significant player, but he's still well behind Mallory in terms of snaps, targets, and receptions.
The only other TE who has played in all 3 games is Dom Mammarelli. He's played 7 snaps in the last 2 games in a blocking role.
Jaleel Skinner and Khalil Brantley each played 13 snaps in game 1 and each had 1 reception (Skinner 30 yd, Brantley 8 yd).
OL
Six OL have played in all 3 games: Jalen Rivers (211 total snaps); Justice Oluwaseun (206); Jakai Clark (195); DJ Scaife (187); John Campbell (179); and, surprisingly, true freshman Anez Cooper (36), who qualified with 1 snap against A&M.
Zion Nelson, who did not look himself against A&M, played exactly half of the offensive snaps (41) in game 3.
Jonathan Denis has not played offense since getting 37 snaps at center in game 1.
Laurance Seymour (21), Matthew McCoy (21), Ousman Traore (14), and Chris Washington (7) also saw their only action in game 1.
DE
Jahfari Harvey leads all defensive linemen with 91 snaps on the year.
Akheem Mesidor has played slightly fewer snaps than Harvey in both games in which he appeared (19 vs 24 and 30 vs 31).
Mitchell Agude (83) is second among defensive linemen in snaps this season.
Elijah Roberts (63 snaps) seems well ahead of Chantz Williams (35) on the depth chart.
Nyjalik Kelly (31) has played in all 3 games, getting from 8-13 snaps per.
Thomas Davis (4) got defensive snaps in the first 2 games.
Jabari Ishmael and Cyrus Moss each got 4 snaps in game 1.
DT
Darrell Jackson has the most snaps at DT (66).
Jared Harrison-Hunte (55) is next, followed closely by Jordan Miller (51) and Leonard Taylor (50).
Antonio Moultrie (33) and Jake Liechtenstein (31) are the next tier.
Allan Haye (7) got defensive snaps in the first 2 games.
Ahmad Moten got 4 snaps in game 1.
LB
Your boy Corey Flagg, who played pretty well against A&M, is by far the leading LB by snaps (94 total).
Waynmon Steed (68) is next, and Keontra Smith (51) is third.
Caleb Johnson (41) and Wesley Bissainthe (22) are the other LB who have played in all 3 games. These two seem to get a lot of production out of their LB snaps; we're all eager to see more Bissainthe.
Chase Smith played 12 defensive snaps in the first 2 games but did not play LB against A&M.
Avery Huff and Ryan Ragone each randomly played 3 snaps against Southern Miss.
CB
DJ Ivey (138 snaps) and Tyrique Stevenson (132) are the only CB who have played in all 3 games.
Daryl Porter Jr. (22), Isaiah Dunson (16), and Malik Curtis (12) played in the first 2 games.
Chris Graves and Khamauri Rogers each played 3 snaps in game 1.
Star/Nickel
Somewhat surprisingly, TeCory Couch (115 snaps) is well ahead of Gilbert Frierson (46). I think it has to do with what they do in the scheme, but inasmuch as they play nominally the same position, I'm surprised Couch plays so much more than Gil.
Jaden Harris (4 snaps) hasn't played since game 1.
Safety
Kam Kinchens played every defensive snap against A&M and leads the safeties in total snaps on the year (142).
James Williams (140) is right behind him and practically tied.
Al Blades Jr. (49 snaps) is the only other safety with defensive snaps in all 3 games.
Avantae Williams (17 snaps) [fill in your own comment].
Brian Balom (9 snaps) got 3 snaps in game 2 but none against A&M.
Markeith Williams (4) has not played since game 1.
We've not yet seen Keshawn Washington or Jalen Harrell, the latter of whom was suspended for the first 2 games. I did not see him in any shots of the sidelines during A&M, but that doesn't mean he wasn't suited up.
Snap counts are based on stories from ITU. I did not include special teams participation in the snap counts.
