Former UM star Lamar Thomas, now a Louisville assistant, recently posted a picture of a half-empty Sun Life Stadium on his Facebook page to try to damage UM in recruiting. (We would expect more from you, Lamar.)-Barry Jackson South Florida Sports Buzz

Good idea by Lamar. Our shythole stadium and crapass fanbase are huge minuses in recruiting. It's fair game.

Any other school I would agree, but not one of our own. Not even Cristobal stoops that low on a social media platform.
 
So wait, other teams use SLS against us in recruiting? No way!
 
We rip the program to shreds every ******* day like its our job... alumni/fans alike on here. Funny thing... it is the man's job. It's business.

So its cool when our former players rip the program on social media? You think that helps recruiting?

What's really sad is he's ripping the fans not the program. Go to the ******* games if you don't like it.

Most of yall still wouldnt go. Then it would be win a national championship before we go. When the canes were 7-0 last year that stadium was no more packed than usual and most "fans" dont deserve to have the U anywhere near them period.
 
Unlike Lamar, I try not to rip family and he is a Cane. However, this does remind me that I think he is from Gainesville -- maybe he had a momentary lapse and thinks he is a frigging swamp scum?

It amazes me how some fans think its their obligation to stand behind and support without serious evaluation and articulation the realities of their team. Why is it wrong for Lamar and fans alike to express the realities of this administration, coaching staff and attendance? Its FACT and you not stating it doesn't hide all those empty seats at SLS! The reality is fans won't support a team they don't feel optimistic about! It's the responsible representatives at the U to give the program the best opportunity to succeed, not just in facilities, but coaching too! Do you believe the gayters would stand behind AL under the same circumstances?

Bunch of self loathing fans....any chance to bash the team. Just two seconds of research and you'd see we actually have a higher average attendance than those losers. But I guess it's more fun to jump on bord with LT?

I have absolutely no problem with Lamar Thomas posting that picture to convince recruits not to come here. It's a weakness to be sure and it's hardly breaking news. It's fair game as it is the cold hard reality of the situation. As a coach on that staff it is his job to recruit against the opposition. Highlighting the oppositions weaknesses is and always has been part of college football recruiting.

First off who cares? As I stated above our attendance woes are well documented. This program has many other positives to sell. If the school is growing tired of being on the wrong end of that criticism then it behooves them to change it.

It's a dog eat dog world out there. We deal with it and overcome like we have always done. This program has gotten soft. That's the underlying issue I see here. The Miami Hurricanes overturned the college football establishment and redefined it's landscape. Traditionally as a program, we gave no quarter and expected none. I also SMH because that philosophy seems to have changed and certainly not for the better.
