Slightly OT: UGA as barometer

Does top flight talent really want to play for Diaz? I say not. I think they realize he ain’t got it.

I don't think the talent gap is wide enough to overcome their offensive woes..

don't forget their offensive struggled a ton with an above average Clemson team. Their only TD was a pick 6 and they had 250yds of offense.

I'd be surprised if they get through the SEC, SECCG, and two playoff games without that catching up to them.
Meh. First game of the season, multiple starters out, Daniels injured, Clemson still has (had) a good defense. Since then they have been lighting it up, and let’s face it, the rest of their schedule isn’t murderers row. No one they will play going forward is dangerous on offense.

It remains to be seen whether or not JT Daniels can get healthy and stay healthy down the stretch.

But speaking of players and player development. Does anyone know what Jordan Davis was ranked as a HS recruit? Dude has become an absolute grizzly bear in pads.

Yup. Daniels has to be healthy for them to win it all. Bennett ain’t the dude.

Davis was a 3*: https://247sports.com/player/jordan-davis-86447/

God help us all if UGA wins the title...

I still don’t believe it, I don’t think they’re going to go undefeated all year & I definitely don’t see them winning the Natty.

The best thing that could happen to college football for this year would be if Oklahoma found a way to pull it off, but the absolute worst case scenario would be UGA winning it.
Not sure he can do it either. Still has no real QB. He’s been able to roll teams running so far.

I was a student at Miami 2000/2001 and I remember we looked different.

Either we used to recruit a better type of athlete, or our S&C was better, or both…but there was a visible difference between what we had then and what we have now

sadly this is UGA's year....I am not sure even Kirby can fck it up..

Been lurking at @Alex Jones, @DMoney, @Liberty City El, @SouthParkCane and other great posters from the shadows over the years.

Went up to Athens for a bachelor party this past weekend and noticed their players physically are just at a different level. Since spectators can go down to the hedges you can really see and feel what a Davis, R. Smith and Washington look like physically. I know these guys are paid handsomely for their services but am I crazy for thinking we can recruit that type of talent with a new staff and the NIL in our back pocket? As @DMoney pointed out last year it’s SIZE and SPEED. It’s a dog**** year but I’m thinking about how we turn the corner. GOCANES!

Not to bump this unnecessarily but what are we missing from an analytics perspective @Lance Roffers when evaluating our prospects in order to marry it up with onfield play Latavious Brini is what I had hoped Ivey would be at @Liberty City El
Athleticism sets the ceiling. Scheme sets the floor.

Miami is getting neither the elite athletes, nor putting them in a position that plays to their strengths.

For years Miami has fallen well short in recruiting elite athletes at positions that matters, and there has been a lack of teaching from this staff. It’s a group of recruiters, so you need to be landing athleticism especially with that group. Not playmakers in high school who made plays due to smarts and scheme, but physical freaks who can simply outathlete their opponents.

That is what Miami has been missing if they aren’t going to be an elite scheme program. Rarely do you have both, but when you do, you get Georgia/Alabama/Ohio State results.

It’s not really the recruiting, the Strength & Conditioning program that they’re in once they hit campus...

The reason why the SEC powerhouses all look physically different is because they literally are, they cycle those boys up with top of the line Dianabol & other high performance anabolic PED’s, they fast track their development process sevenfold. They get kids who are already bigger than most of their peers & typically more athletically gifted & give them that super booster UGA/Bama special in the offseason, then all of the sudden they go from being really good 18-22 year old football players to being high caliber Super humans who are ready to play in the NFL while still being in college.

Could we recruit that? Well no... Maybe if we had a better staff & program altogether, but as it currently stands no we can’t recruit the same caliber of athlete that Bama/UGA/Clemson/LSU/OH St etc are recruiting on an annual basis.

But, we can do the next best thing & still recruit better overall & become a more competitive team, but make no mistake about it we don’t need UGA’s roster to beat UVA, we just need a competent coach that understands how to build & maintain a program.

Sure they’ve got some dudes but you’re using Davis and Washington - those dudes are generational freaks

The most ridiculous excuse I have ever heard. More so than paying the players...ask Tyrick how much he was paid at Uga. They just have a coach trained under Bowden and especially Saban and learned the standard....to what it takes to win(our coach does not have a clue)and is arguably the best recruiter in the cfb and has loaded his roster up with top players who want to go there(seeyaShamir)....now he is beginning to stack qb’s..plus he has an unlimited budget....I do not see them losing possibly until they meet Alabama because of their suffocating defense...

Thank you Lance, praying for brighter days

**** UGA, like kellen Winslow once said I don’t care about nothing but this U

UGA natty? Not with that offense.
Really? Other than the first game, the offense is fine and that’s with Bennett playing two games. I’d expect at least 35 points against AU. If they can’t do that then there are issues.
