SJ

Injuries are my biggest concerns.

Our OL, LB and Special Teams play are alarmingly bad.

SJ, Buchanan and Ryan (hesitant here) are clear liability’s on the OL. They are going to get Mensah killed. The notion we can run on anyone is not true. This is very concerning against the big boys.

I do not understand the loyalty to Chase. Enough is enough is enough. He’s too big and stiff for a LB. Play the younger guys more.

Dawson’s feel for the game is surprisingly bad. Heatherman’s soft zone coverage ain’t it.
Buchanon will be fine. Just needs reps. Communication issues may be just as much on Rodriguez. You have a veteran out there. If he can't communicate better with his guards then he is all but useless. Cantwell has to start. Yes he plays too high. Yes at times he may get beat on first step but half a block is better than no block. He needs rep.

Marcelin was getting to get more reps. He has earned it. We will see what Bonner does. He can help. I don't like putting him on an island with Hernandez. That was on the Heatherman. Not all that impressed with Pruitt's play so far. Wiley needs a half on Saturday.

Honestly Dawson knew we had major issues after Mensah got injuried. No Fletcher. A limited Mali. No Brown who excels in 3rd and his pass pro is elite. IOL became a mess. He did not want to force errors.

Soft zone was to protect our secondary. You still have a true freshman making his second start. Poyser was dinged up. Some of the missed tackling was due to fatigue. Most these guys have played many a half against Stanford and a half against FAMU.

I have never crapped on a Miami player and never will but I watched these two guys carefully from the Wake game and I honestly don't think either of them could move an over the hill, wayyyyyyyyy past my prime me and I'm like 6'2" and two and a half bills. Time for them to have a seat.

I remember calling out Brockermeyer after SMU and basically saying he was terrible. It was like after that game he became a different player. I don’t know what changed but he stopped getting blown up, didn’t have the procedural penalties or snapping issues that he’d had up to that point.

Hope the same happens for Rodriguez. Ryan is an older player that doesn’t have a ton of reps under his belt to teach and learn off of. He might just have to feel/see some things live. TBD.

SJ.. not sure how it improves. There are multiple major problems and the main one is his height/length to play guard.

This gives me hope for SJ. Willie Lampkin is listed at 5'11”, 290. Maybe someone who watches the Eagles knows more about how he’s been playing, beyond a few video clips.

Kid started at Coastal Carolina then to UNC then to Rams, Eagles in the NFL. Pretty good comp IF SJ can live up to that standard.
