I think we could take the "undersized" (he's still a large hooooman) thing, but at least be in the proper position and technique to get pushed over.

That’s the problem you think you’re tough online bashing. There’s no soft or hard here. It’s realize someone can’t be at fault for physical limitations. It’s on the staff to make sure someone who physically can not do something isn’t playing a key roll.

This is totally on the staff, not SJ. I’m sure he’s one of Mario’s “guys”. Puts in the work, vocal, etc. he just isn’t good enough to be starting at G here. We all know that. But cant blame the kid for being out in a position he can’t excel at. That’s like blaming a high nfl draft pick for being a bust. He didn’t draft himself there. The GM did.

That's fair but it's a metaphor of what the OL situation is now. He passed on some guys that had high NIL price tags (Kinsler, Seaton) in favor of the young guys, who didn't play a snap against WF while we clearly had struggles on the interior. Mario puts his chips in on the depth currently on the depth chart and so far it's proving to be problematic this year. Can those guys develop into players? Probably, but this year is the issue. If he didn't want to spend big money for an OL and the young kids were a bit too young, he should have looked at the portal for a less expensive piece. Maybe he did? But everything points to his (over)confidence of the young guys' readiness. If anything is going to change, it has to change in the CMU game. OL shuffling really needs to get in place first part of the year rather than game 10.

It's actually a great comparison. People are saying hopefully SJ improves. Yes, he should improve but like Nelson and most other CFB players it takes YEARS to go from where SJ is and Nelson were to being in the realm of a competent P4 Olineman

The problem with it coming together is the wide gulf between where he currently is and what coming together entails. That will take more than a few weeks/months IMO. I pray I'm wrong though.

I don't believe we've seen a physical limitation with SJ, it's mental.

He's consistently out of position and technique. He's struggled against [checks notes] Stanford (a joke), FAMU (Benny Hill level), and Wake (meh). What happens when he faces a real DL?

Just look at his social media post. He's putting it out for the world to see, knowing the criticism he's facing, and can't spell Canes correctly.

That's mental and attention to detail.

That’s what im thinking. I want the young guys to play too but this isn’t the manny era where we are wondering if the coaches will play the best options.

And if we’re being real, if all of us think the answers are true freshman then that should tell us we aren’t in the best situation
