Since the 2017 10-0 start....

Sure. But I think brock's point is we were at the literal rock bottom. So by definition it can't get any worse. ANY form of improvement (i.e. not sucking as badly as humanly possible) will be tangible. And if we're decent or better on offense it will be a light year jump! And personally I think the odds of the latter are substantial if for no other reason than Enos and his new scheme alone.

If the offense improves, that means nothing. Just by the regression to the mean, our offense likely would have improved even if Richt was still HC and still calling plays. And still had his son and Searles on staff.

What matters is that our offense improves a lot.

That is disgraceful. Has to be incredibly embarrassing for Richt sitting in his new cush analyst seat on the ACCN. Pat Nix was better, yeah, Pat Nix

I’m astonished that the mopes on here and the idiots in the media don’t realize how historically cataclysmically horrific our offensive staff was. They’re all going to shocked by the incredible turnaround.

I would say that everyone on here knew we had a bad offense.

It's unlikely most, even you as the self proclaimed genius on this board, knew it was that bad.

Miami had the WORST POWER 5 OFFENSE in the country playing power 5 competition.
It literally CANT get any worse than that.... If people are expecting a repeat of that this year you are sadly mistaken. Such an indictment on that offensive coaching staff...

This why last year was so frustrating and absurd. If we had even an average offense we win 10 if not 11 games. Average, not good not great.

We should never lose to a effing basketball school again.

I disagree, It literally can’t get any worse than that period. Manny Diaz immediately overhauled the defense that was trash for 5 years in his first year and this offense has an abundance of talent
I trust in Manny and by extension Enos...Manny came in Day 1 and usurped (Shït-canned for the lay) the whole offensive staff. Manny is going 110%, he's not fücking around. He will either rise to the top or go down with the ship, but it will be his way. I'm not expecting a clean game and a very efficient offense in this Game 0 matchup. What I am expecting is for the defense to stay the course and be a strength, the offense to function at an average level, and special teams to drastically improve.

But...But...he gave a Mill of his own $$$....
Both can be true . There is such a thing in life as nuiance . He was great for UM in many aspects and bad in many aspects . None the less he left the program in better shape then he got in terms of facilities and talent so there was pluses as well as minuses. But lord was he and his son horrible for our offense that can't be denied.

Least I’ve followed the Canes the last few decades and I told myself I have to stop caring about a team that just disappoints time after time. Woke up this morning and an anxious as ****. Who am I kidding, we have to win tonight, can’t lose to those hicks.

I'm not going to bash Richt (I've done enough of that over the last couple of years). He did bring us our only bowl victory in like 13 yrs, first 10 win season in forever, went 3-1 against FSU (easily could've been 4-0), and got us to some semblance of stepping in to the 21st Century.

However, he was equally as stubborn like Golden and put self interest, first. His loyalty to his offensive staph and his nostalgic view of him as a play caller nearly undid the unity that was starting to be formed. The locker room became a mess, and we were this close to stepping in to complete irrelevance.

The IPF was a great motivator to get the donors behind the program, but for the good he did, it literally crumbled almost immediately and the only thing he needed to do was overhaul his offense, which he refused to do. His only saving grace in my eyes was stepping down w/ dignity and not try to get more money from us, and that's why I won't bash him. He was a stand up guy for that gesture.
