Pierre was playing dt at around 260 last year ?!?! That's crazy, I didn't think he was that light.
But dam, we're definitely a bigger and stronger team this year, that's a good sign.

No he came in here 2 years ago at 260 or 270.. He was 300 last year and is about 305 right now..

He is listed at 305 now. Was listed at 296 during spring.

His came out of high school listed at 6'4" 245, then after Prep school he supposedly grew to 6'6" 280. When he got to UM in Jan of 2011 he was listed at 6'4" 260. According to an article from March 2011, Golden stated that he had put on 15lbs and was up to 280. He was officially listed at 265 the past 2 years. But I think you are right, he probably came in around 260-265 as a freshmen and most likely played around 285 last year as a sophmore.

All signs are pointing to a massive turnaround in defensive performance this year.
don't sleep on a top 25 defense.

We on the good juice now, it's not just for the SEC anymore. Thank Christ. Goldens just gets it.

I agree, a lot of young players got significant playing time last year, although the defense sucked they did get valuable experience. Look at the improvments physically from 2012-2013.

DT:
Our weakest position last year, but that will change with a healthy Porter and improved Pierre and Robinson. We should also have more experienced depth now with King, Grimble and Moore. Darius was serviceble but should be easily replaced. I believe we got our top 3 DTs back from last year.

Key Losses: Darius Smith
Possible Early contributors: Ufomba Kamalu

91 Olsen Pierre DL 305 Jr. 9 40
96 Curtis Porter DL 316 Sr. 8 16
93 Luther Robinson DL 303 Sr. 13 8

DE:
Everyone is about 10-20 lbs bigger this year. Green should be quicker this year as he is 1 more year removed from knee surgery. We'll also be adding some help from newcommers AQM and Gilbert. This unit should be much improved.

Key Losses: Tyriq McCord
Possible Early contributors: AQM, Ufomba Kamalu

71 Anthony Chickillo DL 275 Jr. 10 17
94 Kelvin Cain DL 250 Sr. 5 12
99 Jelani Hamilton DL 285 So. 14 23
95 David Perry DL 277 Jr. 12 12
49 Dyron Dye DL 255 Sr. -3 -20

LB:
Denzel and Kirby are both much bigger this year. If the starter can remain healthy and add Fig and Grace to the equation, I really don't think we'll miss Eddie and Paul much this year. Remebmer niether Eddie nor Paul were full-time starters.

Key Losses: Eddie Johnson, Gionni Paul
Possible Early contributors: Alex Figueroa, Tyriq McCord, Jermaine Grace

52 Denzel Perryman LB 240 Jr. 10 15
56 Raphael Kirby LB 235 So. 12 15
34 Thurston Armbrister LB 233 Jr. 11 21
59 Jimmy Gaines LB 240 Sr. 8 10
17 Tyriq McCord LB 235 So. -1 20
31 Tyrone Cornileus LB 225 Sr. 10 15
54 JaWand Blue LB 232 RFr. 22 38

CB:
Tracy's added muscle will allow him to be more physical this year. Hopefully, he and Crawford can make up for the losses of McGee and Finnie. Dortch and Burns will provide some depth.

Key Losses: Brandon McGee, Thomas Finnie
Possible Early contributors: Artie Burns, Corn Elder

35 Nate Dortch DB 173 RFr. -2 21
3 Tracy Howard DB 184 So. -1 14

S:
Bush and Jenkins should step up big time this year for a unit that returns both starters who may not start this year.

Key Losses: Vaugh Telemaque
Possible Early contributors: Jamal Carter

2 Deon Bush DB 203 So. 8 24
26 Rayshawn Jenkins DB 215 So. 12 17

He may get in but I'm not sure how much he will contribute this year. I think he is more of a project since he lacks football experience. Not sure we need him this year.

The transformation of the linebacking unit under Al has been impressive. Those are some big boys, only getting bigger.

Key loss McCord? WTF are you talking about? He'll be a SOPH this year!

He got moved to LB, he was one of our best pass rushers on the line last year. He can still play that role but is no longer listed as a DE. That's why you see him listed as a Possible Early contributors at LB.

Unfortunately not enough depth at the DT position to be a top 25, but can they make a huge improvement? Yes! Thinking more like top 50 is Possible . JMHO

I genuinely cannot understand what I'm reading in the weight gains portion. Thanx tho

Edit: I get it now
