SIAP Miami Should Win The ACC

I must've missed it, but where in the world were the Manny didn't get a fair shake crowd? His firing, even with the way he went out on the season, was universally accepted as just across the board. His firing was actually one of the very few times everyone was in agreement.

Quit making false narratives.
Hit dogs holler.

I thought last year was despicable. I was so irritated, but it is a new year and a chance to reset. You are right really zero excuses this year. I was happier with this hire than Manny or Golden. I really liked the Richt hire. If the same keeps happening, we are stuck with Mario awhile no matter. I am optimistic. Yes, he is being paid more but I am not going to sit here and act like Manny had this team disciplined, nor did Richt or Golden. There have been problems a while, but I am not going to crap on Mario at every turn. I just hope it's a new dawn in 2024.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of Richt but I liked him because he was the opposite of Golden. Never got blown out, had Georgia close to a natty a few years, great recruiter. I hated the Manny hire. There was so much potential for somebody to come in and build off that 10 win season. Such a lazy Blake James hire. I wasn’t 100% sold on Mario because of his game day blunders but I talked about it with my Florida State friend and even he knew he was gonna be a great recruiter

I take a brief hiatus from the board and we are being led by this again?

Rinse/Wash/Repeat

This whole thought process has been chewed on over and over, and then regurgitated. Stop 🛑 the cycle my friend.

We get it you don’t like Mario.

Mario didn’t just take over a team with inferior talent, but one with the EGO of @TheOriginalCane, Football IQ of @fraggle, the Heart of @cway313 ,,,, NEVERMIND - I think I made it clear the situation was bad.

EVERYONE knows at this point, with the investments made it is put up or shut up for Mario. With some small exceptions, i.e….injury to Ward, or a loss in the ACC championship game in a NAIL biter (maybe). It’s CFP or bust. Whether you believe in him, personally hate him because he smashed your girl @Angry Ibis, think he is the worst coach (Fyzical), or don’t give a fart.

If he can’t show he can produce W’e with the support he received this last off-season he will never be able to get it again.

He would be castrating himself.

Can we just get the season started already? So we don’t have to hear the same unoriginal thoughts over and over?

How about telling us what games you think are going to be the most difficult for Mario and why? What being in the CFP would mean for the program and how we could CAPITALIZE financially with Brand recognition via different partners (Remember Deon Craze - The U Is Back 1000x more clicks and interest).

Or ***** it!! Talk about the same old nonsense, it’s why I’m on hiatus anyways. Summertime Fun 2024!!

No one knew you were gone, but congrats on your social media fame…

Nice grand entrance agreeing with all of us that are saying, no more excuses, just win…

There was so much potential for somebody to come in and build off that 10 win season.
Richt killed his own momentum by going 7-6 in 2018. Not to mention his recruiting was very spotty. Especially on offense. By 2019 they had to start multiple freshmen because there was literally nobody else.

You didn’t see it on this board, but an alumnus I went to school with said literally that. He didn’t get a fair shot. I echoed what we say here. He should never have been our HC.

Was thar guys only connection with football from the stands? I don't know how anyone could come to thar conclusion, but thanks for sharing it.

Because…that’s how you hire a Head Coach. It’s literally what you will look at to name Mario’s replacement. Past performance. Mario coached here for two seasons and people on this board are done with him. We could literally hire Kirby Smart and if he struggles here, then suddenly you want him gone after year two?

I'm not on the fire Mario bus yet, but I'll be quite frank and say this season will determine that. Now if it heads south after a rash of injuries, that potentially changes things.

I've yet to see a reason he should be making anymore than the guy he replaced. I don't believe in luck, karma, or any such thing, but **** if we don't feel cursed in some regards. How you come in and take over for Manny, hire a bunch of coaches who literally have good resumes from doing it elsewhere, and then go 5-7 is beyond me.

The curse of the OB anyone? I can't fathom spending as much time as these coaches do and failing to the extent they have so far.

I can live with that.

I was unenthusiastic about any hire really in the last two decades.

The closest I came was wirh Richt. I had only one question then, how much did he have left in the tank? Since it's his school, would that bring out that fire he had for most of the time he had at Georgia. I wanted to believe and I think it was there, but ****, we can't catch a break and that's trivial compared to his real life health concerns.

Here's to 2024.

On God.. Thank you 🙏! Let’s just embrace what is the most important season in decades, the most anticipated in a LONG time, and full of enough expectations/pressures/anxieties/excitement one could ever wish for!

Miami better be in the championship game this year. I have never seen more pieces be in place than this upcoming season for the last 20 years give or take. I finally decided to join this slaughterhouse. I have been lurking for over 10 years. I need a great year for my sanity, please god.
Sanity??? LMAO! You're in the wrong place brother!

Mario has to win this year. If he doesn’t now, he never will. There’s no point in any of the other stuff if it doesn’t actually translate to winning on the field. You don’t get trophies for recruiting. Signing top classes is just a means to an end. If the end result isn’t winning conference and national championships you are a failure.

Now, I believe it’s pretty likely that 2024 is a big year for us. We’ve got a very good team and a very weak schedule. It’s pretty hard to **** this up.

Meaning what? Was he a coach? No, he was a student like I was.

I would of been completely fine with Whittingham or even Lane instead of Mario but I support coach he is who we got. I hated flake james, he looked like a fool in his to big suits. I agree with all you say, I knew Richt was almost done, he was already past prime but I thought he was great coach to get us in a better place and prepare for even better days. You are right, Flake F'd that up.

I am tired of yelling and getting pi**ed off on game day man. Sometimes turning game off early, its not enjoyable. I am a passionate fan and just want to see The U feared and respected again.
We all do brother. Trust me we can all relate here. I was just being silly. Basically I was saying that if you're looking for sanity then CIS is the wrong place lol. You see, this place is amazingly awesome but we are all functionally insane from one degree to another.

Having said that, I bid you welcome my friend!

Thank you, I have watched you all go at it for 10 years I wish I had joined a lot sooner but some years back I removed all social media and this is kind of a form of it. I even got off discord game channels. Lots of names have changed and I remember when some guys were brand new and now seasoned veterans on here.

But I can choose to take a break if it ever gets to toxic. I plan to stay out of purgatory lol

Wow 10 years huh? I don't even remember the type of stuff I was posting ten years ago. Take that back. That was the year before Golden got fired so I can imagine I was ripping Fat Albert and his boy Donofrio.

Just thinking back on it, I think it's safe to say that many of us were in major denial about our program and our ability to compete with the big boys. We weren't going anywhere until the administration fully committed to winning and spending the money necessary to do so.

With everything Mario has done to turn this program around and the type of money that has taken, it was never going to happen under Shalala. Coach Cristobal has built a rock solid foundation and after 2 years of very mediocre results, this is the year we breakthrough and win 10+ games. It hasn't been easy as I'm not the most patient person. I've been very critical of Mario's game day coaching but the more I see him work the more I realize that we couldn't have stacked this rooster as quickly as we have without him. The players love him as do the families of the players. Everytime these bigtime kids visit all we hear is how they were blown away by the entire experience. All he needs to do is win 10+ games this season(and it's not like he's never done that before.) and recruiting will be much easier as these big time kids will all want to come. This aspect adds even more excitement to the upcoming season. Can't wait!

What games will be difficult for Mario? To date, **** near all of them. And that's what I am hoping he changes this year. I don't dislike Mario, but rather his results. I want Mario to win, win big, and coach here until he's 80. I just don't want him coaching here until he's 55 if he doesn't improve on game day, and soon.

You have to understand where I am coming from. I sat here and watched as our fans did backflips watching Mario get dragged by Utah, because it helped us to land him. Personally, I would rather have a coach that doesn't get dragged by Utah with so much on the line. But, if we get said coach, I want him to learn from his mistakes, not be a caveman and keep making the same mistakes.

Here's hoping this is the year he gets the O into the 21 century, we score a lot of points, and our D tees off like we all think it can. Enough playing down to competition, over, and over, and over again. You think my offseason rants are tiring? Our in-season ineptitude is a **** of a lot worse.

I'll make you a deal. Mario wins big this year, and I'll stop complaining about him. I will no longer feel the need to kick my neighbor's dog, make negative posts, or drink too much.

Deal! And if he fails

Hey I understand all of your misgivings with Mario. I’ve seen him up close and know people that have been around this program for awhile.

I see him putting in the work and actually making changes and learning from his mistakes.

If he fails this year I owe you a bottle of your choice less than $200 dollars.
