SIAP: Locksley trashing Gattis already.

What I don't get is why anyone would have Gattis as the OC, and have Kevin Sumlin on the same staff? WHO DOES THAT? You have a **** good playcaller in Sumlin, use him and have Gattis be the WR coach and recruiting coordinator or something.

Don't forget Locksley himself. Three OCs. Makes sense.

Anyone remember the porsters that swore before last spring camp when Gattis was hired that he’d be gone within a year after being hired as a Head Coach by a top program? Because Pepperidge Farm remembers.
I remember saying that about Enos too. I also had the opinion that Rhett would be here for a while and he was likely a career OC because he wouldn't get a HC job offer at a big enough school to pay more.

I just avoid those opinions these days. It all works itself out.

Keep in mind his OC last year was Dan Enos and he's making these comments

Didn't think it got anymore boring than an Enos offense. Before Enos I didn't think it got more boring than a Richt offense. Before Richt I didn't think it got more boring than a Coley offense...

This last decade has been miserable.. with a brief 2 years of Lashlee to see what it could look like.

So now we can officially declare Enos>gattis
We scored 52 against an 8-win P5/Conference opponent with Enos / Jarren Williams. Maryland looked good offensively with Enos.
Most points against any P5 opponent with Gattis was 35 against 4 win GTech...with a QB that broke records the year prior lol.

Forgive me for being lazy and not revisiting old threads but can someone state what the “cause” was for his firing now that we are well past it?

To be fair Enos has pretty much had success everywhere but here the last 10 years, he was delt a ****** hand here.

Yeah I think I remember some saying the reasons would come out after the dust settled - regarding why it took months to officially fire him.

Gattis too busy trying to bury his face into a co-ed or some recruits Mom.

:quagfinal:

Idk about personal issues, but I think I remember 1 thing that came out about Enos being too hard on the kids for Diaz's liking.

Fisch years weren’t too bad, same with Whipple. The issue with Mark was that he knew he was more intelligent than his boss and didn’t hide his contempt for Randy. Fisch was carrying D’Onofrio and bailed as soon as he could. Other than that, it’s been some rough times at the OC spot.

Dans Enos is McVay level compared to Gattis. There were moments where Jarren Williams looked great like aganist Louisville and FSU.

There was never a moment where Gattis made anyone look good.

I still don't know how he got hired as an OC by a P5 school after his stint here.
