SIAP Jon Coach Gruden likes the Canes.

love both dungy and gruden
It’s shouldn’t be a knock on Gruden or Dungy.
Gruden was the missing piece at Tampa.
Dungy was the missing piece at Indy. He inherited a great offense, but Indy needed his defensive mind to put them over the top.

People forget that it should have been Gruden’s Raiders in the SB against the Rams, if the NFL didn’t invent the tuck rule on the fly for Brady, or more appropriately to fvck Al Davis.

Sure, that one season, I’ll give him credit for that, even though he knew every play that Oakland was going to run before they ran it. But good on him. What did he do afterwards in his coaching career, by the way?

let's move the goal posts from "winning with Dungy's players" to "what did he do with his career after that".

well, it is very hard to win a super bowl. there have been 537 head coaches in the NFL and only 35 have won a super bowl or about 6.5% i say he's done pretty darn good.

after his super bowl win, IIRC he was fired 3-4 years later, did TV for 7-10 years and then went to coach the Raiders. his emails were purposefully leaked by Goodell, Dan Snyder and perhaps others and he sued the NFL and beat them in the Nevada Supreme Court on whether the arbitration provision of his contract was enforceable. now his litigation is about to proceed in state court in nevada and i am going to predict that the NFL will pay him a floor of $100 million or more to settle that case at some point in the future but only after he exposes all of their ****e!

/not too shabby eh?

It’s my porst. I’ll move the goal posts if I want. I’ll move those ****ers all day long.

But sorry, I didn’t know you were a Chucky fanboy.

I’ll try to temper my Gruden criticism so you don’t get offended. 😂

oh, you can do anything you want, but moving the goal posts means you failed in your argument, but that's fine. happens every day.

yeah, i like gruden. what's the issue. you like maricones? that's fine, glad you found acceptance and leche.

Gruden replaced Dungy in Tampa, energized the offense, and won the Super Bowl with his offense and Dungy’s defense. He never won a playoff game afterwards. Fired after losing four straight to close Year 4 or 5. Ironically, his last game was against Oakland in Tampa. He somehow managed to lose a home game to a team with JaMarcus Russell as quarterback. Has a terrible eye for talent. Won a power battle against Rich McKay and promptly proceeded to destroy the roster. Keep in mind the defense was aging.

Dungy replaced somebody in Indianapolis. Built a good defense and won a Super Bowl with Peyton Manning. Might’ve won another one or two but was in the crosshairs of the New England dynasties.

Dungy consistently kept winning in Indianapolis until he retired, whereas Gruden had one good season in Tampa after Year 1.

Hoowee, that escalated quickly. You sure are a sensitive boy. Really ain’t that serious, but OK.

But nah, bro, I’m straight, I’m not the one with the schoolboy crush on Gruden.

But hey, it’s a free country, do your thing, let your freak flag fly. 🌈

but dungy couldn´t win a super bowl with his players, it took gruden to take them over the top.
Love Tony but saw it up close as the season progressed, all the way to San Diego. Won’t say Tony wouldn’t have gotten them there but the SB wasn’t even fair. They were prepared and knew every play the raiders were running.

I watched this earlier today, and this is the best breakdown I’ve seen yet on our game.

Everyone in the other thread has been saying that A&M reminds them of our 2017 team, and I came away from this feeling like they are more like our 2024 team. I didn’t realize their weaknesses were in the D, particularly the secondary. The South Carolina game especially now seems like our Cal game. Seems they have an offense that can score, but an average OL, and a defense that has a lot of holes. They can keep up with anyone but they can also get exposed.

Gruden was extremely high on us, even more than I expected. I really liked his take on the sack differential stat. That one stood out to me the most with the lines and QBs here. I’ve got a good feeling about this game.
