SIAP - Flowers 1st Round

Flowers has had a much better career here then Seantrel and I would bet the scouts are taking that into consideration. Seantrel is overly exceeding expectations and Flowers is better.

As far as I've heard, he's gone. Still don't get the guys who've been consistently down on Flowers.

My concerns were consistency with him, he's answered that this year and then to come back from surgery and handle a guy the caliber of M. Edwards cemented him going pro.

Been one of the best OL the university has ever seen and he's been that way from day 1...not quite McKinnie level, but who is? Good luck to Big E on Sundays. Throw up that U for the world to see on Sunday Nights too bro.

Hopefully my Giants can hop back into the back of the 1st Round and pick him up.

Pump the breaks bruh

???? Start running off a ton of names better than E Flowers...guarantee you're list gonna run short pretty soon

I would say he is on the level of Eric Winston. Not quite McKinnie or Carey level. But he is on that second level.

Eric Winston? If we asked Flowers to just down block, which is how Winston got his notoriety here, he'd murder people.

I think he's better and more productive than Carey. This is basically the perspective I'm curious about. The guy has played for an OC who didn't like running the ball and another who couldn't settle on an identity till about 4 games ago. He hasn't been Mckinnie perfect in the pass game, but neither was Carey - who was really a star Guard prospect. I'd consider Flowers a notch below Mckinnie and Searcy. After that, I think he's being undervalued.

Flowers has a really bad false step in his kick step that's gotten him killed a few times this year. Really needs to fix that. Has some other issues that I think he could fix with another year here, but is probably a starting RT in the NFL next year.

We need a left tackle baaaad. Also Duke as another option to Jennings would be fantastic !

I'd take em in a heartbeat to start at LT for the Gints...least j wouldn't have to look at soft *** Will Beatty anymore

Unfortunately we can't afford to look towards taking Duke. We need to trade Randle for picks.

I'd be happy if we somehow wound up with Amari Cooper and E. Flowers. Then go sign Suh...and we're back in business. We're waisting prime Eli smdh

That's where I stand. I don't think he's a natural LT, but he's athletic and has shown the ability to move well laterally, which opens him up to multiple teams/schemes in the NFL. I think he'll make someone very happy in the run game.

I posted months ago that Flowers had a big chance to be a first round pick. That position is so coveted that numbers within the first round are very high. Ju'Waun James was never speculated as a first round pick until very late in the process, and even then it was considered doubtful. He's been a big asset for the Dolphins this year.

BTW, I appreciate that Cane Dynasty is quoting me in his sig. As I've posted on countless sites for more than a decade, 3rd down screen passes are pathetic choices. The failure rate is overwhelming. Chart them and that trend will be glaring. And not merely on 3rd and very long. Top defenses simply do not allow yards after catch on key plays. Screen passes depend on run after catch. Not exactly complicated to understand why 3rd down screens fail. I jumped out of my chair when the Canes called a 3rd and 10 screen with McGahee in that Fiesta Bowl. It was an incomparably ignorant choice. Obviously the injury is remembered for that play but what should be chastised is the fact we called a 3rd down screen.

Naturally the most simplistic fans have no idea that 3rd down screens are horrid choices. They've never studied it, have no clue about situational variance, and fans somehow are fascinated by screens in general. It's jealousy. They see other programs run the plays successfully, and are desperate to similarly trick the opposition. I remember last spring when a lengthy thread was posted on this forum, touting screen passes. There was page after page of tribute until I jumped in and called them garbage plays, for many of the same reasons I detailed in this post. If screens work, everything works. They accomplish nothing, and there's tremendous danger that the coordinator and/or head coach won't grasp the fact that those finesse plays destroy terrorized defenses, yet if you run them against top foes they will obliterate them and assert a physical pecking order in the process. That's why the 3rd down successful screen against North Carolina was such stupidity. It led to James Coley believing he could call a wimpy draw in the final minutes against Florida State. The Seminoles denied the play, as they were favored to do.

I notice that Cane Dynasty altered my user name from Awsi Dooger to Awsi Booger in his sig. Quite predictable from a poster of that level. It's similar to the fans who think it is somehow cute or effective to write Folden instead of Golden, or to alter the nicknames of our rivals like the Gators or Seminoles. When you can't argue via strength and logic, you resort to juvenile tactics like mangling names or semi-profanity, hoping that other conventional wisdom types will happily follow along.

Flowers would be criminally insane to not leave this year.

Dream scenario: Flowers falls to the Bucs in the 2nd rnd
Perryman falls to the Bucs in the 3rd
Duke falls to the Bucs in the 4th.

Bucs draft the rapist and use him as trade bait for four 1st rnd picks and use one of the to draft Kayaa
Lol

Thank God we've been going away from them as the season has progressed. A few (3-4 max) a game are decent. But the way we were calling them and the situation was always retarded.

Shut up Gary.
