It's a VERY attractive job, it's just that no big name assistant wants to work for a greenhorn like Manny. Between Manny's 4 million dollar buyout from Temple and the 3.1 million for his salary UM could have hired Saban away from Bama, or at least give the Stoops brothers a call...

Fedora and Applewhite both presumably have been offered spots here but prefer to be a HC somewhere if the place and particulars are right (and they are offered). Temple and Troy are both looking for HC and are interviewing this week.

If Joe Rudolph (Wisconsin OC high favorite) or someone other than Fedora and Applewhite get the HC spots out there, we may indeed have one of these as OC, perhaps "better late than never".

Until these related matters flesh out, our OC situation is likely to stay muddled, possibly for a few days.

This could sadly be the truth. Hard to poach guys from winning staffs to take a job with a complete wildcard at HC.

Dear God better not be brevin, was one of the only bright spots on O. I know he has someone close to his family that is having heart issues that he set up a GoFundMe for
 
Literally no media jumped in and confirmed or rolled with Stefan about applewhite rumors for days

Then suddenly Josh reporter dude Confirms it through some channel so there's gotta be a small leak in the staff to local reporters and national media hasn't gotten whiff of it yet
 
Each of our previous first time head coach hires struggled to find quality assistant coaches. People who are established in an industry don't tend to go to work for unproven entities. I can see Manny having some struggles.


As for the "prominent player," its been speculated that Jalen Hurts might want to transfer to play for Applewhite if he were hired here. Houston connection between the two.

Who knows though.
