A couple of quotes that I love:

• Whereas one former Hurricane said players were afraid to make suggestions to ex-defensive coordinator Mark D’Onofrio, receiver Stacy Coley said one appealing aspect of coach Mark Richt is “he listens. What we tell him, he will draw up.”

Players objected to D’Onofrio’s strategic decisions, but one former player said they couldn’t make suggestions because of fear he would lash out or scoff at them.

• Offensive coaches have made a subtle change that should reduce penalties. “Cadences this year allow them to not have to predict,” Kaaya said. “Our cadences are more rhythmic, so it allows them to know when I'm about to say, ‘Down, set, hut.’ It's easy for them to time up and jump off the ball."

• One unique advantage for UM recruiting: Recruits are being allowed to hang out in Hard Rock Stadium’s Club Liv before games and at halftime.

“No place in America has kids hanging out in a place like that,” Richt told Joe Zagacki and Don Bailey on WQAM’s Hurricane Hotline, adding that one recruit told him Saturday that “your team is very happy. They care about each other.”

Here's another change from past staff that UM players love; Hurricanes nuggets; Mixed news on Marlins trade | Miami Herald

But won't that make it easier for defenses to jump off the ball easier as well? Not going to worry about it, but it might be something to watch for.

He is not saying that its the same count each play but the cadences are consistently in a rhythm. Which allows your teammates to synch. If the D doesnt know the count then it doesnt matter. It might reduce the chances of the d from jumping offsides.

What could possibly go wrong?

look how coach d talked down to hurlie brown in that one video. "I been doing this a long time" oh well, the kids are clearly happy. future is bbright, i just wish the recent grads didnt have to endure the past staff but thats history now

looks like he got a well deserved break

Mark Richt is creating a culture for the team and community in so many ways. He is a professional coach who knows how to build a program and is detailed oriented and very smart. The future is bright and in the hands of a CANE, we gonna be back!

Still **** me off the way Coach No D wasted DT talent like Jeremy Lewis and Luther Robinson. Those dudes were pretty good coming out of High School. Made Lewis move to Guard, and it took Luther's family to intervene for him to stay at DT. I don't wish ill will on anybody's life, but since he's coaching his son team, I hope they lose every game in embarrassing fashion, like we had to endure the last 5 years. He missed up a lot of folks career running that BS scheme.

It's one thing to dog a player for ******* up or whatever but scoffing at ideas is never good. That's just arrogance at it's worst. Also, not sure I like the idea of a cadence, if the OL can predict it so can the DL and that's not a good thing imo.
