SIAP — Thank You Josh Pate

I'll say it again. The whole thing is being set up to have Notre Dame at 7 and Miami at 10.

Which means that we face each other in the playoff without ever being close enough to be compared head to head by the committee bracket and notre dame gets the home game.

Remember this post.

That doesn’t happen unless an SEC team loses. They are really banking on that?

Maybe. If we truly believe that ESPN is controlling this **** show. Wouldn’t it benefit them to ***** over the non ESPN team?

I doubt that happens. But Miami isn’t SMU or UVA. We may have been dog **** for the better part of two decades. But the Miami brand is still strong. If you subscribe to the thinking ESPN has their best interests in mind, I wouldn’t be shocked to see ND being NBC and non conference playing a role.

Again, I don’t think it will. But it’s not an insane hypothetical imo.
Nope, because this is about playoff rankings and Notre Dame being in is bigger for them on average in their minds right or wrong than other options

This is what I’ve been thinking. Pie in the face if we don’t.

Honestly, they could just be kicking the can down the road anticipating the loss coming and avoiding all controversy
that's what I think...

any loss by:

OU, Ole Miss, or Bama fixes controversy.

And if Oregon loses they'll have to decide which argument they want to deal with. Oregon vs Miami/ND or Miami vs Oregon/ND...

If this is how it works out, I would be over the moon.

I don’t personally believe they’d elevate us over ND for the reasons I said. I personally believe we are equal to any team in the country in terms of draw. Every major game we played did numbers this year. Just more thinking out loud.

Maybe. There’d have to be some major upsets for that to happen imo.

Andy is right except for one thing, we CAN cancel the game against ND next year. Our games this year and next year are not part of the rotating 5 ACC games that ND plays.
I get the logic for canceling since it clearly means nothing but that’s the opposite of what this program stands for.

If that is what ND and the SEC/Big 10 want to do… go for it.

I’d rather go up there and kick their *** again and prove that H2H means something. This time, make the scoreboard reflect what actually played out on the field. Now they can hang their hat on 3 points, when it was much more decisive than a 3 point win.

I’m really sick of all of these “journalists” making these great points in our favor, and pointing out how ND has been beating up on awful teams with terrible records, but then also saying that they think ND is the better team right now.

Shut the **** up.
There is a game on Saturday that can make them take all of that back. Win by 21+ and force them to acknowledge that maybe that’s not the case and it really is just the schedule.

Somehow the struggle against Boston College is completely missed in everyone’s recollection.

It’s not about the Pitt game though. It’s about all the games that ND and Miami have already played and how these journalists/content creators are acting like they’re on our side, but it’s really just about getting views to make money.

The point is that when they throw in that bs about how they still think ND is better (based on what?), it contradicts everything they’ve just said and it comes off as wishy-washy. It’s like they want to make these big statements that they think that we are getting screwed, but they don’t want to lose the fans that hate Miami, so they also quickly throw in that they think ND is still the better team to appease the masses.

Pate, for example, went on a rant about the eyeball test, and he even made this dumb statement too. They’re all hypocrites.

That’s what it is. But I agree that they have no intention of bumping us above them. They are hoping we **** up and we keep derailing their plans by winning.

Ah man, I'm getting a really bad feeling about the ZEBRAS in this game. Hope we are not being set up, but while I'm glad these folks are shouting from the rooftops like we are on this board, we are ****ing alot of people off. People that have actual connections to the folks in position to push this game one way or the other.

It’s too obvious. All these metrics and eye test are clearly factors you would use when you don’t have a direct point of comparison between two teams. In that case, reasonable people could differ on what information should carry the day.

But when one team beat the other on the field and the resumes are otherwise comparable, you’re telling on yourself if you say the other stuff makes the difference.

Pate is notorious for playing both sides. I knew Josh from years ago when he was covering GA HS football. He actually shouted out one of my texts to him on his show back in 2022 (regarding Mario losing to MTSU). He and I haven't spoke since I called out him having the SEC balls deep in him in 2023.

But he’s got a base to cater to and pay his bills and that’s how it has to be. Basically what you’re saying and alluding to.

The real issue is the ACC isn’t saying **** about it. If this were happing to Alabama, Greg Sankey would be on ESPN daily and in the lobby of the CFP committee and where it takes place. It’s time to take all of their comments and talking points and disprove them in a statement. Because they can all be picked apart.
