SI Article on Counters

As long as its' President Dr. Mark Emmert & his band of merry-men continue to lead and manage the NCAA, everything will continue to be as slow & as bad as ever! If it was a private business, the BOD would have fired his behind a long, long time ago. What a bunch of morons!!

UNC has 15 guys in the portal. Mack is cleaning house. If the article is right, than the 22 or 23 classes could be real small at some schools.

If just a few of the big name schools run out of ships, that would give an opportunity to the next tier (UM, UNC's etc.) to grab some higher rated talent. Clearing space for 22 and 23 would the CF version of tanking in pro sports.

also you are going to have to increase the scholarship count, because on top of kids saying halfway through the season this is for me (portal), you got others opting out left and right for the NFL.

Why on earth would Saban want Emmett fired?

Pretty good article about what changes are inevitably going to come.

Very good article. Hits nearly every important point.

Rules must change. You can't have transfers competing with HS kids for scholarship slots. You just can't. It's going to do some serious damage, not just competitively, but academically. Which is what the NCAA likes to CLAIM that they care about...

I’m sure of one thing concerning the portal, from the player prospective. In this environment, if you don’t have a landing spot and a clear path to your on the field goals at your new home, don’t enter it. The risk far outweighs the reward from the athletes perspective. Said player needs an intermediary or at the least, well respected/connected council.

The article makes the point I and others have made in some other threads on this topic. The math doesn’t work for transfers to become some big phenomenon unless they change the IC rules.

NCAA is run by a bunch of dopes. The absolute worst sports organization on the planet. Not to mention corrupt as ****.
All they care about is their profits and maintaining their free labor supply.
The fact they have maintained the status quo shows whoever is running it knows what they are doing.
