Shoutout the Secondary

Man, playing street ball for so many plays in a row is why people are underplaying the offense’s role in a couple of those drives. Specifically, 28-11 with the ball after an onside kick presents a ton of opportunities with minimal downside. Very, very poor example of complementary football. Maybe not a full pass, but I’m giving the defense a partial pass for getting fried out there for at least 15-20 unnecessary plays.
Defense had to play 83 snaps against that BS offense.

83. In regulation. Having to account for every blade of grass.

Unacceptable.

Poyser and Thomas played their best games as Canes yesterday.

Lucas and Damari were the physical presence needed to neutralize Duce when the game was still in the balance.

4th quarter was a combo of things. The offense did nothing to help them out with a few first downs. Very disjointed.

It was clear, Hetherman was comfortable with a prevent approach and allowing the DE to pin their ears back. Unfortunately that is the same time the refs forgot a game was going on and swallowed their whistles everytime FSU had the ball.

These guys are good. You don’t ever hear OJ’s name, so I’ll assume he’s just great in coverage. We neutralized Duce for the most part. Xavier Lucas got away with a PI early in the game but he has played well. I saw Damari with a huge TFL and he has also been good in coverage in the games prior.
Jakobe Thomas obviously has been making plays; I don’t hear much on Poyser - has he played well for those who pay attention closely to the DBs?

Can’t be stated enough how well Mario overhauled the secondary. Just sucks that Brantley transferred and hasn’t played; that decision has cost him some money but the guys ahead of him probably outplayed him in the spring and are simply better.
Didn't here oj name not once or see any highlights lol. No issue with that. Secondary is ballin!!!!!

Safeties played great as well as Scott.

What’s the deal with Lucas? I expected better out of that guy but right now, he’s a liability
How would you categorize him as a liability? Yeah he got away with a PI, but I haven’t seen anything from him that screams liability

I admit, liability is a bit of a strong word, but he had 2 bad beats on critical downs in one series. Bad technique and something just looked off. I love his upside, but I was a little bit surprised at his play.

Often moves like a Cover 3 corner or a Safety. Hard to tell with limited views of his play so far this year.

Defense had to be gassed and the offense did them no favors at the end. DL having to chase that midget around all game is exhausting I’m sure.

Only thing I was upset with was how we gave them two 2-point conversions and some easy red zone stuff at the end.

I hear you, Lucas is still only a sophomore, hope he gets better and develops. Thought we held Robinson in check for the most part.

Poyser been ballin…

Think he went through an adjustment period with the speed of this level…

He ready now

I wasn’t sold on Jakobe Thomas coming into the year.

I am now. That kid is a football player.
Same. When he committed I was like “Ok nice depth player.”
