Should we move James Williams to LB?

That man needs to play strong Safety in a similar role to Kam Chancellor in Pete Carroll 4-3 under.

The bill Traumaine Edmonds plays Mike and at 6-5 250lbs ran a 4.5 at the combine

Don’t be ridiculous. He’s the fastest runner there is if quicksand was the field surface and football wasn’t played sideline to sideline.

Disagree on James even though he can turn up his intensity level but he played smart on Saturday. No dumb penalties and played all over.

Now, if you want to start a thread about Stevenson being better at STAR than corner then, maybe IMO, but I want to see a few more games still and TAMU will be interesting game to see how Stevenson and Williams look in their roles.

Let the coaches figure it out.

Still, this has been a topic from day one when he came on board. Just the other day, whatever thread it was, we had posters saying move him to LB'er as he's not a fit at safety. Now it's all on board to keep him there, like conversations haven't been had? Weird.

Okay explain to me how suggesting a move to LB is such a dumb idea that I deserve all the hate? James Williams type Safeties have been getting moved to LB in college for years, so why is it dumb when I bring it up?

He definitely has the ability just not the frame right now but he can get definitely fill out in the off season with strength and conditioning.

2 outliers that have been playing the position their entire lives with larger chest frames and natural mass to play the position at that weight and height.

None of which James Williams has shown capable.this is how joints and ligaments get stressed to the point of consistent injuries.

Playing linebacker is just different. You gotta want that shii. You gotta MENTALLY be a backer. You can't just be the prototype anatomy. It doesn't work like that. JW0 is a DB. His center of gravity is too high and lineman gone be under his pads all game. He don't even tackle or hit like a backer.

Nothing in his game or on his film says " linebacker" which is why the coaches are smart enough to avoid putting him there.

That and he's definitely hitting the portal cause he DONT wanna play that shii

Have you ever played or coached Backers? I have. And I was **** good at it too. Please tell me what part of his game translates to backer?

I never said move him to backer I'm saying keep him at safety you see his quick feet and change of direction at practice, just still needs to get stronger tho and play safety like a Jamal Adam's type or Darwin James
