Should be a Fun Thread for the Blue Chip Ratio Civil War Argument

We’ll Mario brought his two culture ol that he coached w him and they’re worse than the previous starters

We’re also missing a rash of players on that OL. Week 1’s OL is not remotely the same as Week’s 8 OL.

Dennis & Sagapolu never saw real PT at UO. Dennis ranking dropped via the TP. Mario didn’t bring them w/ him; in fact Mario specifically said he wasn’t going to recruit any UO players to show respect to his former employer. Both players chose to come to Miami, but neither were penciled in as starters. They were supposed to be nothing more than depth guys.

I agree on the ol. Injuries hurt us a lot there. I also said I trust Mario w the ol. It’s his thing

I also don’t think Mario is a great coach. He’s average. He did well at Oregon but clearly under performed on offense imo. The numbers this year w a bad transfer qb kinda prove it too. Anyways it doesn’t matter. I don’t trust Mario to make the fight call w the oc w his philosophy. I also said I don’t think we win big w Mario. We will win more consistently though

Trying to sort this out is like searching for family heirlooms after a tornado flattens your home. Futile.

The coaches had months to read the writing…

My brother from another;

So let me see if I understand ur post clearly:

4 yrs of ineptitude & bad recruiting; 4 yrs of mediocrity was supposed to change in months?

I think Mario’s biggest flaw this off season was giving these lil ninjas a chance. He should’ve been aggressive af in the portal, so in that case, I do agree w/ u. Unfortunately, by the time he got a sense of the roster, trying to poach from The Portal became went from shopping at Bloomingdale’s to shopping at the Slauson Swap Meet.

We’re on the same page. We were late/incomplete with the portal. And then late with the read of the offensive philosophy vs players.

Even yesterday, he coaches like we have an OL and no kickers when we have kickers but no line.

So, the Coaches can’t be held accountable until year 5 or 6?
Same BS we’ve heard for the last 15+ years. The problem is the coaches, it’s always been the coaches. Whether it was a best friend that couldn’t be fired, or a son that couldn’t be replaced or a defensive or offensive philosophy that wouldn’t be discarded. It’s always been the coaches refusing to adapt to their talent and maximizing their players strengths.

People need to leave these players alone. They respond to their coaches and if their coaches are incompetent and run an archaic brand of football then you’d check out too.

Mario’s offense is like an office manager replacing all computers with typewriters and asking for the same level of productivity if not more.

I’d quit and tell the manager to **** himself and so would everyone else. Stop blaming players that are put in **** positions by selfish, incompetent coaches.

On the offense...it comes down to playcalling and the talent on offensive line. Prime Michael Vick and Vince Young would have looked terrible back there, Prime Adrian Peterson or Frank Gore would have been stuffed, and Prime Larry Fitzgerald would have be bored. Because there would be no holes for the running back, no time for the quarterback to throw, and obviously no throws to be made to the wide receivers.

So how good or bad are our wide receivers and running backs? Who knows. Because a bad offensive line and suboptimal playcalling negate them. I do know this...offensive line has the lowest blue chip talent of any position on offense:

Same but different. Could argue our top WRs in reality are X .869 and Colbie .699

Nah, definitely not. They hold accountability for several on field issues, but u know like I know this roster was bull chit. However, come next yr, imo, there’s not an excuse. Between recruiting & The Portal, there should be a heavy emphasis on turning over this roster.
