I agree, but I also believe that he has some nerve, hating on us getting Commits from top prospects. Granted, some of these guys we do have committed may not have seen the ceiling yet on their development, but a good portion of the guys we have are Top Prospects in FL. These guys aren't just some kids we found that were excited to be talking to a college coach. Dykes needs to get his facts straight on that end.

Where I agree, is that there is motivation to create buzz after a 6-7 season. It is commendable, but we all know what it is for right now. But if Al Golden thinks he can keep on doing the same BS and dropping games we should have won, he will be mistaken. UF had a number of top commits committed to them and another few 5* kids say they wont look at them anymore if Muschamp was fired, but they did it anyway, because it was what they needed to do.

(As a postscript, I am a Cal alum with a Cane grad son. The Cal football team with it's decades of incompetence on the field AND academically are in NO position to offer any opinion on anything going on in recruiting in the ACC or the rest of college football. Credibility of a gnat at this point)

As much as I don't like Al, he is our smuck so I don't like others trashing him. If there is one thing Golden's staff has established is an ability to identify talent before other staffs. They suck at getting and keeping the kids, but they often point the way. Early signing would help Al more than it would others because of that. He might be able to sign some before the other turds get the cash to them. Wow, that is as close to defending Al as I have been in a long time.
 
Dykes is a dumbass. Everyone knows that many of the kids committed to UM won't stick. That's not the point. UM has been down for a DECADE now, fresh off a 6-7 season, and a HC on the Hotseat. They have to do this. Get in front of the kids and hope most stick. Regardless, it's a good move. The South recruiting is a whole lot dirtier than the West. UM is just trying to keep up!

I do like the idea of the early signing period coaches spent far to much time recruiting when they should he game planing. And it gives players time to get there grades in order and they could get there playbooks earlier. look I'm tiered of guys not qualifying because they took the wrong courses if you sign early you know what school your going to you could start working towards qualifying.

FFS Gorlden is doing whatever he can at this point to appear competent. Great for him and the millions of dollars he is stealing from the university and from our players in the form of lower draft positions than they should have been.

Anyone who things the #gagg16 class is gonna be the #1 class in the country come signing day if Gorlden is still HC is ******* straight up stupid as a ******* rock.
 
Since when did having top tier talent committed already become a bad thing? Look, you'd have to be a moron to think all those kids really end up canes, but we're not gonna lose them because they're not good (which I kind of think he's somewhat implying). We're gonna lose them because of the product on the field. Ps Al sucks.
 
I'm a Cal fan. Dykes has done pretty well at Cal.
But all yall are trippin over the truth right now. What he's said was the truth. Over half the guys we have committed likely won't stick, So these commitments are basically pointless.

Anyways based off his comments, couldn't he be talking about FSU?

That doesn't make him a dumbass. What he said was the truth. And getting these commitment, especially while not having an early signing date, is very pointless.

It's not pointless at all, the poster above just gave 3 legit reasons/points as to why the coach is doing it.
