SHOCKER!!! The Big Ten is going to cave.

Shaun Wade's dad made this statement to an Ohio reporter today:

Randy Wade did confirm to me today that his son Shaun would not sign with an agent until Wednesday at the earliest. So if the BIG gets its act together and releases an acceptable plan to play within the next 48 hours, the All-American cornerback still could return to play this season. Otherwise, he would become Element Sports’ newest client. The Atlanta-based agency recently negotiated former Ohio State star Cameron Heyward’s $65.6 million contract with the Steelers"

Interesting..... maybe trying to push the Big 10 into making some kind of decision faster?

The Big 10 DID submit the required discovery paperwork to the attorney for the 8 Nebraska student athletes. Their attorney made a public statement that he was going to review it carefully and discuss with his clients before making any further plan for action.

The belief is the Big10 led him to believe they would be making a positive decision on the season going forward so he is giving them a brief amount of time to do so. If they do, these 8 athletes have indicated they would drop the suit.

Meantime, various Big 10 University Presidents/ Chancellors and BOT continue to make public statements, pointing fingers at each other...

Summary of what is going on right now from an OSU board:

1. As we know, the Big Ten COP/C lead by the Commissioner Warren and COP/C President Shapiro allegedly did not conduct a legal vote to postpone the Fall sports season. Northwestern and COP/C Shapiro was required to conduct a vote per Robert's Rules of Order; therefore, the vote to postpone the season was invalid. That's what the discovery likely showed today, but there might be an even bigger problem. I'm sure the Big Ten made a claim that they did in fact hold a 11-3 vote per their affidavit, but Minnesota President Joan Gabel made public comments otherwise. Meanwhile, I suspect Mike Flood elected to not disclose the evidence he received via discovery because Big Ten attorney Andrew Lugar told Flood the COP/C was about to vote to continue the season. Flood has previously said if the Big Ten plays a Fall season then the Defendants (8 Nebraska players) would drop their lawsuit.

That's why Flood in a public letter said, "Today, the Big Ten Conference provided my office with documents responsive to Plaintiffs' Limited Discovery Requests. I want the opportunity to carefully examine the Big Ten Conference's response and discuss the same with our clients and co-counsel before commenting on what was disclosed by the Defendant."

2. Meanwhile, Gabel is at it again. She apparently may have made another enormous mistake for her school. Michael Hsu, is a member of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents (BOR). The 12 volunteer members of the BOR each serve for a six-year term. One Regent is from each of the state’s eight congressional districts, and four are from the state at-large. The BOR policies articulate the University’s LEGAL mission, vision, and guiding principles. They also establish a framework for the President to achieve that vision. All other University policies, including Administrative policies that provide rules and guidelines for implementing many of the Board’s policies, must be in compliance with the expectations and intent set by the Board including the schools Charter and By-Laws.

There is no reason for Hsu and Finebaum to know each other. Thus, it appears Hus is upset with President Gabel and he went on national TV to expose her actions. The Regent indicated the BOR was never consulted by Minnesota President Gabel about cancelling the season. He said he didn’t even know about the August (11th Zoom) meeting and that it raises issues of authority.

Another words, Gabol made a unilateral decision, without advising her bosses, to attend a meeting with an agenda item to postpone the Fall sports season. Therefore, she allegedly made a decision that exceeded her authority, which may be another reason for a potential cover up.

This in itself will not cause the Big Ten to play football, but playing football is likely the only way to keep this information out of the public domain. I suspect that is why Mike Flood is giving the Big Ten a little bit of time, maybe 24 hours, to announce a plan to play Fall football or he will petition the State Court to depose Commissioner Warren and the 14 members of the COP/C to expose the multiple cover ups.

As far as Hsu's actions, I suspect he went on a national college football show to make his allegations to tell through a third-party comment to primarily Gabel, but Warren and the COP/C too, you better vote "yes" on playing football or the BOR will investigate Gabel possibly making a decision outside her authority. To compound Gabel's problems, Senator Amy Klobucher went on TV and gloated that she influenced Gabel's vote to not play football referring to a political agenda.

I wonder how many other schools could have the same problem?

And, guess who could file a lawsuit seeking damages for a client? Tom Mars who has become the Big Ten's number one enemy. Why? Mars has multiple potential cases that could cost the Big Ten and its member institutions millions and millions of dollars.
