SHOCKER!!! The Big Ten is going to cave.

The vote will be tomorrow as I said yesterday. I am hearing that the vote will be 9 or 10 yes. Also don’t be surprised is some teams play and others don’t. A real mess

Will Pichigan and Pichigan State play? I am not looking it up, but if I'm not mistaken, football was previously barred by law in that state.

Supposedly Rutgers already said they won't play. Lot's of details still being worked out - OSU board believes they should have the same shot at the CFP with however many games they play. Looks like plan is for 8 games over 9 week stretch if 10/17 is the start date. Other conferences playing minimum of 10 if all games are played

Earlier today the no votes appeared to be Michigan, Minny, Northwestern and Rutgers.

Whitmer banned football in the state, so even if UM and MSU vote yes, they cant play.

If I'm involved in recruiting high school football players, the last place I'd want to work is Big 10 or PAC 12. This should hurt them for years, but time will tell.

This article from an hour ago says no vote scheduled after they left last night.

"A person with direct knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press that the full Council of Presidents and Chancellors heard from all the subcommittees of the conference’s Return to Competition Task Force over 2 1/2 hours. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Big Ten was not making its return to competition plans public.

The person said the meeting broke up without the presidents and chancellors voting and with no set plans for them to reconvene."

OSU had a second starter announce he was "opting" out this morning. Wade, starting cb, and one of the players who was leading the push back against the Big 10. His father was very outspoken and organized the protest at Big 10 headquarters.

They seem to believe on their 247 site that there will be some kind of vote soon - maybe not today but in the next couple of days.

What do they do, cancel it and just run classes through the week previously scheduled for spring break 2021 and then the semester finishes a week early?
The university has canceled the traditional week off in 2021 to limit the spread of the coronavirus and will hold its first week of January classes remotely to allow students to quarantine after winter break.

“There will be no spring break. Instead, there will be two instructional breaks — on Tuesday, Feb. 9, and Wednesday, Mar. 31 — where there will be no classes.
