SHOCKER!!! The Big Ten is going to cave.

B1G higher-ups would have to admit they ****ed up if they change course now. Those arrogant pricks have a hard time with that.

Only play they have now is to go all in and start a season as soon as possible so they get in on the post season. Starting in Jan or spring does nothing but make them look dumber and is ultimately a non-starter.

This is so poetic. I was telling other friends who are also alum, as soon as they cancelled their seasons this could be big money in tv revenue for the schools that choose to move forward and at least give it a try, since the revenue coming from eyes who are normally watching those conferences play, will now be watching our conference games which should drive up our viewer numbers in a big way.

The other downside for the closed conferences was potentially the number of players who might enter the portal wanting to play. This would primarily apply to those who already graduated, but I would have to think for schools with strong legal shops, they could petition to get any transfers a waiver, since I would think Covid provides a strong rationale for any player transferring under these circumstances.

I will say I am surprised at the lack of names entering the portal, particularly for positions that take more of a beating and whose careers are much shorter, such as running backs. I figured even one year gone, is a potential year off of your career if you are a top level player. This whole notion that circumstances will change in the spring, doesn't take into account that there is probably going to be a lag even if an effective vaccine is approved, since there will be a lot of people not wanting to be the first testers. The B10 and PAC10 are soiling themselves now that they rushed to this decision and the only thing worse than a bad decision is reversing a bad decision after it is already too late to make a difference.

So the Big 10, who has 12 teams in the conference, ****ed their season up?
