SHOCKER!!! The Big Ten is going to cave.

So they decide to go with a solution that accomplishes almost nothing and pleases absolutely nobody. Brilliant.

Hopefully, the CFP tells them to pound sand, they won't be considered for the playoffs.
Spot on. So stupid, it’s laughable. Only thing more idiotic was canceling the season at beginning of August or planning to play in the spring. These guys are just throwing sh*t against the wall and seeing if it sticks.

B1G thought every other conference would follow suit when they bailed out. They got caught with their pants down.
Pants down - and then they weren't so B1G!

More seriously, the Bowl Games present a real interesting issue. There's huge money there too. Would NCAA allow a (B1G) team to play a December Bowl in the middle of their season? (money talks.) What about the Bowls that are Conference 2nd versus another conference 2nd, when one conference is still playing. Bowls in March? Madness!!

it seems like if they really wanna unfūck themselves, why not start the season sometime late in September. That gives them plenty of time to train, get ready, work out schedules, logistics, etc.

But if they’re going to do that, they have to decide within the next few days. If they don’t. They are just simply not going to play. It’s getting to be very close to the point of no return to unfūck themselves
I agree have a last week of sept start date and they can salvage their massive **** up they decided last month.

how would this even work? It’s still the same **** outcome. Every other team will be almost done with there season.
The teams play every day for three weeks. By Thanksgiving, they are caught up with the rest of the country. There would be concern however about the impact to academics.

All teams and refs agree to 10 minute quarters or a running clock like in blowout games.

At least they didn’t double down on their stupidity. Shouldn’t have jumped the gun like that initially but this is better than sticking your head in the sand and not listening to anybody

There's a rally-protest scheduled for this morning at 11 am at the OSU stadium. It's led by the president of the OSU athlete parent group. They've established a Big Ten parent committee with membership from all schools and have been discussing what further actions they are going to undertake.

Seems like Tom Mars is leading the charge...

Will these efforts though be thwarted by decisions from above? I thought that at least one Big Ten state governor had banned fall sports due to COVID?
