Maryland decisively beat Texas (second year in a row). They have a lot of exciting talent on both sides of the ball. Half their team would start immediately for us (their entire OL). Despite the disparity in recruiting "stars."
 
Anyone who actually thinks Blake James would’ve hired Butch is lying to themselves. I was all in for Butch as I know he would’ve been cheap and there would’ve been a huge amount of money for assistants and resources. This post is equally taking a shot at Blake James as it is at a very overrated Shiano.

I would have taken Jim Tressel in a Nu Yak minute. That guy can coach and win big games.

Tressel interviewed for the UM job when Butch was hired. Paul Dee said he was the most complete coaching candidate he ever interviewed. Said Tressel came in with a detailed, written plan of how he planned to use each kid on the roster.

Paul Dee was a gator who hated UM, so he did not hire Tressel because he feared that Tressel would win too many games at UM. Fortunately, Paul dee was a gator and hence was incorrect about everything in life from sports to caloric intake. Thats why the Butch Davis hire went perfectly.

That's pretty interesting about Tressel. I think he's kind of a douche but he was a good coach. Obviously, Butch worked out well so nbd.

If Im not mistaken, Tressel won like 4 DII national titles at Youngstown State.

What's with the negative waves? You believe it - it will happen.

Blake Jame is absolutely clear in his head that he should have hired Butch - no doubts - so once Richt is kicked to the curb - Blake James put Butch on his speed dial, and he's going to court Butch like an ugly fat boy after the prom queen.

The OP is referring to the University of Miami not Canes Insight wish list. Schiano was the school's second choice.
