Sherrone Moore - fired for cause

@Manfred_Cane some of my friends in Ann Arbor are saying this affair was a “well known” secret for months, and one even said for longer than that, possibly before Moore was hired. If that comes out ion the mix, I am changing my entire postion about Warde’s job being safe.

And word out of Ann Arbor is that Warde is in trouble
I'm really close with a Michigan donor who said the players knew about this affair going back to last year.

And when Michigan originally pushed Moore & the lady about the affair in summer, both denied. Then the formal investigation happens in November. So 2-3 months go by before a formal investigation into a situation that was pretty well known? Seems suss.

Warde has been on the hot seat even both the NC. The natty helped his cause a little bit. But there was a hockey investigation that also happened under his watch. The Juwan Howard saga lasted too long and didn't end pretty.

I just don't see how he survives this.

The issue then is, do they hire an AD first or a HC first? Idk how theylll play out

So who’s taking the Alabama job? And why is Alabama’s offense so one dimensional this year? They averaged 175 yards rushing a game last year with the same coaches and same plays.

I’m sorry to break it to you Alabama fans but the glory years aren’t coming back. You can hire and fire coaches every year from now until forever. The fact is that Alabama has lost at least two games in every season since 2021. Which coincidentally is the first year of NIL. I don’t are how “proud” you are of your team, you better get used to not being miles ahead of everyone else because those days are long gone.
They have a new OC this year. He was the OC when Deboer was HC at Washington. When Deboer got the bama job he left to be the Seahawks OC for a year.

Stop it with the fake outrage. Sherrone and his assistant are both 304s. But, to compare that to a coverup of a pedo ring where foster kids are "graped" is unconscionable.

Yeah, this isn’t great, but what happened at PEDO state, was a whole other level of bad.

I mean, it’s not even in the same universe.

You could make an argument for the death penalty for Sandusky at PEDO, and jail time for others, whereas this guy the punishment is lose his job.

As I said earlier in this thread - you're a fool if you think 'they' don't know all of your movements.

They had leverage on the guy from day 1. If he worked out as a HC they'd have driven her to the abortion clinic themselves. As it hasn't suddenly he's the bad guy and they simply had to fire him with cause.

Exactly!

I slept with a coworker who was my equal, my gf found out, and it blew up in and out of work. HR investigated me, it was a very stressful time, but they ended up finding no wrongdoing. Kept my head down at work and ended up getting promoted a few years later.

That was like 10 years ago. I am married now (to a different woman). I learned my lesson. Now, you won't find me spending a second with a female coworker unless other people are present.
Why?

I have said. this was known outside of Um for months. David Come was told about it in Sept.after their 1st loss. All the higher ups in the program already knew. It went quiet. After the 2nd loss, Cone heard about it again. It went quiet. After the Buckeyes loss he heard about it again. So after every loss people were leveraging this to get rid of him, knowing for months. The drop was timed. One of your own LB's Cook tweets Sherrone "cheater" Moore had an affair with a staffer and is getting fired on Dec 1st. This is the least cause to fire Manuel on a list of 10 at least. A program out of complete control.

I hear what you've saying, but just from a logical, objective standpoint, this is terrible timing from a replacement-hire standpoint, since nearly every other head coach has been hired.

The Michigan "narrative" seems to be that some new piece of information came out the day before this went down. Maybe it was a "proof" element (i.e., e-mails) or maybe it was a "salacious" element (i.e., "oh, she ALSO had an abortion?!"). SOMETHING seems to have re-re-re-motivated Michigan to act on the initial reports.

I'm no fan of Manuel or Michigan, I'm just watching this trainwreck with a huge bowl of popcorn.

Thank you for that post, Mike Pence.

I mean, he won 9 games. If he had won 8, they would've fired him. If they beat Ohio and make the CFP? Never would've heard about it outside of the Michigan circle

According to one of the Detroit papers, UM did their own internal investigation last summer which wasn’t conclusive (Moore/mistress both denied it even though many knew about it). UM then hired an outside investigative firm and obtained the proof they were seeking to show him the door.

While that sounds plausible, I'd also say, based on results, that is the WORST outside investigative firm on the planet.

Isn't this short sighted because when the coaches leave aren't the players released from their commitments?

Exactly. I don't get the "save the recruiting class" angle. They already have Savion "Adolf" Hiter trying to get out of his signing, and that list might get a lot longer if they can't land a coach soon, and one that everyone respects.

It's better to have signed them than not. It's easier to reassure rather than to convince.

I don't think that can outweigh "trying to hire a Michigan level coach when everyone already finished hiring the good candidates".

If Hiter leaves the class, that's significant. If Michigan had hired DeBoer a few weeks ago, that might have been averted.
