Sherrone Moore - fired for cause

Let's keep it a buck: MOST MAJOR COACHES ARE DOING THIS. Go look at the directory for most major programs, there is at least one young, attractive member of the staff that has a poorly defined job and is never pictured wearing team apparel, because that's not why she is there. She is there to service members of the staff, if not the head guy. The guys that get busted either don't know how to use a rubber, or it becomes such an issue that you can't hide it(Petrino). Even then, if you are winning, you can get away with it(What got Petrino fired was him hiring his mistress and then LYING about it to his boss).

Michigan was stuck in a bad spot: Moore is a decent coach, but he isn't elite. He isn't the kind of guy that will have Michigan winning 10+ games per year, and that's what Michigan expects following Harbaugh. They likely knew Moore was doing this for a while, saw an opportunity to get rid of him, and sat on the information until AFTER early signing day. Warde Manuel is a gangster, that's how you move as an AD. Who wants to bet that they upgrade at HC easily?

The cheating (and Machiavellian use of the information) is commonplace.

The crash-out (including suicidal and homicidal threats) is not.

Hopefully Michigan poaches DeBoer just in time to spoil Bama's season. Bonus points if Bama fans are happy about it, only to get a bum coach who drags the program down to pre-Saban levels.
 
Ironically if he beaten Ohio st this would’ve been swept under the rug. Apparently it was well known since the beginning of the season and kept reappearing after every loss.

That being said I’m sure there will be a few more firings higher ups. that’s a **** show of back to back scandals where it’s all good as long as you’re winning.

Dude lost literally everything in one day but at that point you have to think about your actual children

However, this is another embarrassment to the university in the span of 3 years. If he knew the conclusion of the investigation, and he waited til after ESD to fire Moore, then the board could have grounds to fire Warde.


And he doesn't get kudos for hiring May. Congrats on making the most no-brainer hire of the last 5 years.

Manuel likely had this cleared with people above him. This was orchestrated. They likely delayed the firing to 1)Make sure their case was ironclad, so they could fire for cause and 2)Give themselves time to vet candidates and also save the recruiting class as best they could.

Bama can do better than DeBoer. Their fans know it now. They won't be sad if DeBoer leaves.

Moore should have been fired after the Conner Stallions mess. Instead he was given the HC position and continued to ***** it up (literally). Good riddance. Even if they had beaten OSU there was no way out of this mess for the Blue except getting rid of him. Manuel took a chance on him (he had never been a HC) and lost.

This can’t be real. OK, a person in authority gets trim on the side, happens all the time.

But this major league freak out and mental health breakdown, by the head coach of one of the storied programs in college football? I can’t believe he did all that **** yesterday. Did this really happen? Somebody tell me this didn’t actually happen.

Who are they going to hire? Lane Kiffin? I have no doubt that bama fans think they can do better. I also have no doubt that any coach who doesn’t win at Nick Saban levels will not make it through three years there. Deboer will be on the hot seat immediately after they’re eliminated in the first round. The problem is, Bama fans don’t live in reality. They don’t realize that since other teams are allowed to pay players now, they never be back at Nick Saban levels. No team is going to be able to put together the absolutely ridiculous rosters they had pre NIL.

I will not slander or defame the man, but at this point according to multiple credible media reports...
