Ivins has an article on Shemar's visit plans....

He's in the initial stages of planning an unofficial visit to Georgia the weekend of Oct. 2, which is when the Bulldogs are set to take on Arkansas.

Stewart put Georgia in his top five last month along with Texas A&M, Ohio State, Miami and Clemson. While all five programs remain very much in the hunt to eventually land Stewart's signature, a sixth school could eventually challenge Stewart's lead group, and that's Alabama.

According to the staff at Monsignor Pace, Crimson Tide assistant coach Robert Gillespie stopped by Monsignor Pace late last week while making the rounds in South Florida and expressed plenty of interest in the All-American. Stewart hasn't visited Alabama before, but was scheduled to spend some time in Tuscaloosa back during he summer months with his high school teammates before Tropical Storm Claudette forced the group to cut their road trip

As it stands right now, Stewart currently has just one official visit set up and that's to Texas A&M the weekend of Oct. 8 when the Aggies host Alabama. He has already taken an official visit to LSU, but is no longer considering the Tigers. That means Stewart has three more official visits to use. Miami is fighting hard to secure one of them and had Manny Diaz at Stewart's game this past Friday.

FWIW, One poster on the UGA sight insists that Kirby has requested his last OV and he has agreed to that. No idea how true.

Jess is by far the best DL coach Miami has had in a long time. In terms of teaching technique. You brought him here to develop guys. He was here for one year…. I think to say anything about his recruiting is a bit premature imo. Everyone talks about Holley but no one wants to talk about him landing JHH, Blissett or Harvey.

Trob has landed guys like Jordan Burch for South Carolina in the past. He’s done it before and he’ll do it again. You should put him on your top defensive guys no matter what position he is.

Just don’t get it either. Kul is who molded the defensive line into what they were in 18. Simpson had nothing to do with that. Simpson has yet to show what he can do with a unit he controls
Recruiting was never Simpson’s strength. That’s already been established. “Premature” is silly at this point.

Simpson is not a net negative in recruiting like Rumph or Patke. He's a net positive even if he's not as good at it as aces like TRob. For Stewart and Kelly, you can't pin any miss on Simpson. Their recruitment must be an all-hands-on-deck effort.

As far as player development, I'm already seeing better production from the talent than what we saw from Stroud. JHH continues to develop, McCloud is better than I expected, Chantz is showing promise. The line is not the problem. That said, Taylor and Roberts MUST play this weekend, and Simpson needs to weave in the more talented kids more and more.

I understand this is Simpson’s position, but DVD is the primary on this one. He came to Atlanta on his own. I’d be thoroughly shocked if we didn’t get an OV.
