‏@ByTimReynolds - Hurricanes captain Shayon Green has been tapped into Iron Arrow, the highest honor one can attain at the University of Miami.

From Iron Arrow's website:

Iron Arrow Honor Society, founded in 1926 in conjunction with the University's opening, is the Highest Honor Attained at the University of Miami. Based on Seminole Indian tradition, Iron Arrow recognizes those individuals in the University of Miami community who exemplify the five qualities of Iron Arrow: Love of Alma Mater, Character, Leadership, Scholarship, and Humility.

Very cool. Congrats to the young man. Just a nice reminder that there is more to life than performance on the football field.

This guy is going down as one of the all-time great Cane success stories.

He's been knocked a lot on these boards but has been a leader, always brings his A game and obviously does great things for our locker room and off the field. Mad props.

Congrats on showing the persaverance to stick with the game after all of those knee injuries.

He's definitely a hard worker. I go into most games expecting one of his knees to have a mini explosion go off like a Michael Bay movie is being filmed on it, so any week he's walking upright is a miracle.

Good for that mother ******.

unreal, cant wait for the ravens or steelers to draft him in the first

Good for him, he deserves it.

Dude must be a monster worker in order to still be running around like he is. And improving, at that.

In addition to all the comments about his leadership and grit, he's performing at a much higher level this season.

Kudos to the young man.

No need to be a d*ck. The kid is obviously not a superstar, but despite a ton of injuries during his career, he plays his heart out, and he's actually become a servicable player this year and made a few plays. He's not the elite kind of player we need to compete at the elite level, but he's a tough kid who gives 100% on the field, I really wish sometimes dudes could just STFU if they have nothing good to say about a player in a thread.

There are plenty of threads to trash this kid and his talent, this is not one of them. He's obviously a great leader on the team and highly respected by his coaches, teammates, faculty and fellow students, and should be congratulated.
