I know one thing: Coach Richt will be OK.....and that is the most important thing, by far. Coach Richt - thank you for being everything we didn't deserve at UGA. Your impact here will be felt in the lives of who knows how many young men and their families. While trophies tarnish in glass cases and soon become totally irrelevant to those who gaze upon them, your efforts will bear fruit uncounted times in the lives of the young men you touched by your example and teaching. A legacy that will endure for many generations and will endure long after all of the metal and glass idols have dissolved into dust. When will we get it - the greatest trophy that can be won is the prize that is won when a young life is transformed from a life of what could have been, into a life that not only was but of a life that exceeded expectations. Mark RIcht has won those trophies many times and will continue to do so - but he will no longer win them at Georgia. Trophies don't say thank you, don't come back and hug you and say thanks for changing, saving, my life. Don't care or even know if you live or die. They do not return and testify to your goodness and worth in their lives. But we act like we want those meaningless pieces of trash so much - Mark Richt has it figured it. He will be richer every day of his life for it. The rest of us - we just don't get it. And as the years go by, our poverty will be made manifest because of it. Georgia still has a football program - it just doesn't mean much right now.
