I know one thing: Coach Richt will be OK.....and that is the most important thing, by far. Coach Richt - thank you for being everything we didn't deserve at UGA. Your impact here will be felt in the lives of who knows how many young men and their families. While trophies tarnish in glass cases and soon become totally irrelevant to those who gaze upon them, your efforts will bear fruit uncounted times in the lives of the young men you touched by your example and teaching. A legacy that will endure for many generations and will endure long after all of the metal and glass idols have dissolved into dust. When will we get it - the greatest trophy that can be won is the prize that is won when a young life is transformed from a life of what could have been, into a life that not only was but of a life that exceeded expectations. Mark RIcht has won those trophies many times and will continue to do so - but he will no longer win them at Georgia. Trophies don't say thank you, don't come back and hug you and say thanks for changing, saving, my life. Don't care or even know if you live or die. They do not return and testify to your goodness and worth in their lives. But we act like we want those meaningless pieces of trash so much - Mark Richt has it figured it. He will be richer every day of his life for it. The rest of us - we just don't get it. And as the years go by, our poverty will be made manifest because of it. Georgia still has a football program - it just doesn't mean much right now.

Good man with high character and integrity. Great honor done to him by Mr. Fraticelli.

Hopefully he'll be able to add National Championship HC to his resume.

That is really nice and exactly why he was the wrong choice for the one school where nothing short of NC is good enough. Our young men are members of the Cane family. That includes Mark. Coach Mark must win NCs here or we will fire his Georgia peach rear within 5 years. We want the shiny trophies and are not to lazy to polish them.

That's pretty much the dead on sentiment of most of the UGA fans. Not sure where posters get this idea that he was run out of town and the fans wanted him gone. I live in Georgia and I can tell you they are very upset ... to the point of wanting the AD fired. The ONLY people who wanted him gone were a handful of uber $$$ alum and the rednecks. That's it. For the overwhelming majority of the fans, the day they fired Richt was NOTHING like the day we fired Al. Not even close.

He won thins though. SEC champs and bowl games. People are over board with this win stuff. No coah won anything before Miami and not as much as Richt for sure.
Thats what you say if you never win anything

100%

I noticed that, when Fraulden got the boot, that the players loved him too. It's all very sweet.

As anyone here who has started at a new job knows, you have to reprove yourself, no matter how experienced you are.

I bet they feel even worse now that they hired a total unknown to replace him. There's a good chance Smart is another Ray Goof or one of the many other busters they had before Richt.

**** that nice ****. I hate this marshmallow mindset.

Save that for BYU or Navy.

I want to win and I don't mind if we get some goon back in us.
