Every summer Oakleaf HS participates in a team contact football camp. Shaq's freshmen and sophomore year they went to the camp at UCF. Last year and again this year the camp will be at Jacksonville University (JU). Well last weekend the JU Camp was odd because 1 team was a no show, so the camp contacted Oakleaf to fill in for 1 day. I know it doesn't account for much when someone braggs on their own kid.. but I have to, because he was so dominant... When he went up against Booker T as a freshmen.. I realized that he was a lot better than I thought... Now playing against his peers... He is a game changer... Aundre Kearny's Team was at the camp also... he is good also.. very aggressive and talked a hold lot of noise (while backing it up) ... He was physical and going after it, on every snap.. I tried my best to measure the two without bias eyes, but IMO Shaq was surely the most dominant... As a matter of fact one spectatur I was talking to said that Shaq was the most dominant player on campus... JU players included. I pray he stays safe and continue to get better... and carry it over to the next level.... Go Canes.
p.s. The do part 2 of the JU Camp from 9 - 11 July I will post. He is also geared up with Next Generation monitors.. to track heart rate levels, impact, and speed. He will be the first H.S player to test this equipment.
