They didn't regress this year. They played the same ball the played last year and the year before. It was more glaring this year because of our inexperienced and poor safety play. They missed the same plays last year that they did this year with the only caveat being that JaQuan and Redwine weren't back there to bail them out.

Great call, our young linebackers are better athletes anyway, shaq and pickney played hard and came in and represented the best they could, now its on to the next crew, they got more natural talent, including joyner!
 
Shaq has 96 total tackles (career high), 47 solo tackles (career high), 15.5 tackles for loss (career high), 5 Pass deflections (more than Robert Knowles has in his entire career), 2FR, and 1 FF for his senior season. That’s a great Senior season to me.

Pinckney is the one who saw a drop off in production In terms of tackles but he did get injured this season.... he still has a career high in tackles for loss for the season with 12.5 and sacks with 5.

He probably missed 30 tackles this year. I'm not bashing the guy, he was pretty good but had limitation. He played hard and stayed out of trouble. I am only pointing out that his play didn't regress any, just that we noticed it more because of the play in the back end regressed.

As for the stats, he has had the basically the same amount of solo tackles every year. He had 14 more total tackles this year with only two more of them being solo and 12 being assisted.

Pinckney is the guy that gets a lot of love but doesn't deserve it... He makes a few splash here and there but is out of position way more than he is in position and misses a boatload of tackles

Not gonna lie, always prefer the type of guy who goes into his senior year and does the whole overhaul thing to get ready for one last ball-out, try-to-get-drafted higher year .... get off social media, start working harder, full brand overhaul, et al.

Only thing Pinck did was cut the hair—but still seems to spend more time on Instagram stories and worried about his fashion sense than he does elevating his game and trying to play his way up in the Draft.

Curious to see how he handles things between now and next April.

Any flaws they have aren't worth mentioning at this point. JMO. As bad as we have been, just imagine where we'd be without them. 100 starts between them. They were a small light in a dark time. ✊🏿
 
Two of the best in the country. They've been the most consistent players we've had on D in years. They could of bailed last year but stayed to provide leadership. I'm sure they thought the season was going to be better than this as well. Kudos to 55 and 56

How many 4 year starters have we had at UM?
 
They are really good, just didn’t have the luxury having a real experienced Linebacker coach. That’s what’s wrong with our team, bad coaching period. Bad play calling, why players look absolutely lost sometimes. Very bad coaching
all of us know we have had bad coaches for years, and years and years
Like freakin Groundhog Day every season
 
Shaq **** sure didn’t regress..pink did tho. Still respect for both of them for representing
