Old post, but I agree. They both suck.

They can go *** for tat in terms of ugly, inexplicable losses.
 
They're both horrible...but the fact we're looking at Shannon in a somewhat sympathetic light tells you how deep of **** we're currently in.
 
Randy is a Cane. A champion at that. He contributed and was a starter.

Not the best head coach. No argument. But lookin back coaching is the top layer of our problem.

Golden is an outsider who can't get it done despite every ounce of support from the unseens and national spotlight and kind media lean.

Race hopefully has nothing to do with why one situation went one way and one is going another.
But then again I don't put nothing past no one.

If u think it's bad now it would have been ugly had Randy succeeded.
 
Never thought we could do worse than Shannon, but we did. Only reason Folden is still employed is because he's white.
 
If Shannon had taken over the canes before the FIU brawl, would things have been different? That was the night this school stopped wanting to be a football power. People can point to other things like the LSU rout but losses like those are not the reason we've sucked for 10 years.

They're both bottom of the barrel. The Shannon hire was ******* stupid and the result predictable - you never hire a coordinator from a failed staff. I think the mindset in the Golden hire was good - find a young, overachieving HC - but the extension, and the decision not to fire him now, are incompetent.
 
Shannon is family. No matter how bad of a coach he was- he played here and made a big contribution then. He was also a good DC.

Golden will never ever be considered a Cane. He has ruined this place. I don't want him associated with us. No ties. Cut them all. He ain't a part of this family.

Exactly. That's why I don't hate Randy the way some of the racist posters around here do. Horrible head coach, but is a Cane at the end of the day.

Randy Shannon wasn't the issue it was Shalala she is the one who allowed the rat to hang around and destroy the program/ Than AG gets here and throws out half of RS players like Nelson and we put fault on him for lack of depth. Not saying Randy was a good coach just never had a good qb
 
Randy Shannon never got the support he needed from the administration and had poor people skills. Miami would have been alot better though had we not fired Randy, had Teddy Bridgewater and had a decent Offense Coordinator.

The drums were beating loud and the worse kept secret That Shannon was gonna be let go, thus his horrendous recruiting before his dismissal. As for golden he & his crew have been recruiting strong as it's been promised to them that they're all coming back. It's hard to assume Shannon staying when he was no longer desired here. Heck, they didn't give him the chance to clean his desk, never addressed his players when he wAs kicked out and had to resort to send his kids freaking postcards to say goodbyes.

Enough with the revisionist history. I loathe Donna and Golden and will rejoice the day they are no longer affiliated with this program but Shannon was an unmitigated disaster as a head coach.

Both of these coaches are disasters. Real difference is that one was dismissed rightly but ingloriously so, while the other is still there undeservedly collecting a paycheck leaving us all castrated & feeling lame cause ain't a **** thing we can do about it!
