Shannon Dawson’s offense is the best in the nation by numerous metrics, but he still sees areas where they can better. He met with reporters to discuss the offense, the Duke win and the Georgia Tech game:

On what can improve on offense: We had 3 three-and-outs on Saturday. There's always things on film that you can improve on, and all of them were self-inflicted wounds. We missed a throw. We dropped one. There's always things left out there. We had a huge lull in the second quarter...

Listening to Brent Key presser he talked about us ocnverting on 3rd down.. Said the numbers by qtr were even crazier..

Start 1st qtr we convert 80%, drop to 30% in 2nd and third qtr at 75% and fourth 71%.. The duke game played out kinda similar where we had a couple 3 and outs in that 2nd. But just cooked 2nd half.

It was funny last Saturday to hear the announcers excitement in the fact that GT was able to force a few three and out. It’s become such an afterthought that we’re going to convert.
Secondly, our tight end room is off the charts.

Here’s a tip to avoid being behind the sticks on offense and its real simple: quit the effing WR screens
Especially to George but our big issue is the perimeter blocking. Duke ran a few with great success cause they were blocking it well

Na, that's silly. We're home of the best 3rd down teams in America and most of them have been 3rd and long. I'm in good there.

The offense is great! But as this running game has gotten going I get very frustrated watching the running back get 3 carries in a row getting a first down on probably the first two carries then it's second and short then we throw 2 straight passes and have to put. This is happening when we we're able to take total control of a game early. We could've totally ran our last 3 opponents out of the stadium. I understand we have Cam and I love that we do but I would love to see this offense just let the RBs take over if the defense can't stop it that'll cure the 3rd and long problems

I agree.
Usually nothing there, but I believe it set up the George TD later on.

Didn't Brown score on a WR screen too?

This. And after they're just desperate enough to load the box after getting run over 6 plays in a row, just have Cam toss it to someone for the easy TD knife in gut.

Double edged sword. They do in fact put us behind the chains sometimes early and often. HOWEVER they are also set up plays that open stuff up later on. It's great when they work when George or X slips a tackle but usually the big payoff is later either by scheme adjustment or just constantly f'ing with their eyes and we hit the chunks or a house call on the part B of the plan
