68% accuracy. Yes. 1 yr rental, then let Lieutenant Applesauce find us an elite day 1 starter in Texas.

Y r we just posting about JAGs? Buechele and Jackson are not good, they are simply serviceable. We need to get a guy like Hurts, hes above average n has big time experience. If not ill just roll with Jarren.

Lol it’s an option we have brother, nothing more. But jalens the obvious choice and that’s just not as interesting for an insight.

A poor man's Alex Smith. He's also a transfer candidate.

Most importantly he has solid pocket awareness. He is able to feel pressure, although sometimes too soon, and he has the ability to pull up and deliver dart's short/intermediate range. He has the ability to split 2 man/zone; that's all I care about.

If the guy can buy our young line time with his feet, and if he can simply get the ball to our receivers, I'll take him in the QB room. We need the competition.

Homie also might have ties to Major Applewhite, who left Texas in 2013. Not sure if there's any connection.

One thing we're going to need to keep in mind is that with Tom Herman and Kendall Briles offenses, having a running QB is an integral part of the offense. That was the case with Greg Ward, Houston's QB during the Herman/Applewhite tenure led the team in rushing both years. And this year's Houston QB, D'Eriq King, with Briles as his OC, was 2nd on the team in rushing.

That's the offense. It operates with a running QB. That's the heritage under Tom Herman, he's always had QB's who were an integral part of the rushing offense. Houston, OSU, ISU, Rice...he always had run/pass Qb's. Same with the Briles offenses (with only Driskel at FAU being a slight exception, and Robert Griffith being the ideal). Both are predicated on the notion that a QB who presents a credible running threat, will both stress defenses in pass coverage and create a numerical advantage for the run offense. QB's who cannot run are not a fit with the offensive scheme that Applewhite will implement at UM to the extent the scheme is comprised of Herman/Briles elements.

The Herman/Briles offensive scheme does not look pretty without a running QB. In fact, it looks like the last time a non-running QB played for Herman. It was last year, with Buechele at QB (splitting time with Ehringer) when Texas went 7-6. Or the year before in Houston, in between the Greg Ward and D'Eriq king years, when Houston's offense fell to 65th in 2017 with Kyle Allen and Kyle Postma split time. Let's hope we don't see that offensive performance at UM. In order to avoid it, we'll need to find a quality run/pass QB, as required by this offensive scheme.

Buechele is by no means a fit with the offense we expect Applewhite to implement.

This dude is terrible

He looked pretty good as a freshman, but one of those guys who didn't seem to improve as well as you thought he would. But definitely better than we have right now

Herman's battering-ram style offense just isn't a good fit for his frame. He's not a fullback like the other dude is.

Im interested to know why you say he is so terrible? If you have any insight please tell us.

I live in Austin and seen the games he played. If you are ok with less than 10 yard throws all the time(thats why completion % is so high) then he is your guy. But there is a reason he was benched. Doesnt make good decisions

Seems legit. I watched him a few times and thought he would be the starter at Texas. You dont think he has the arm strength to go downfield?

I think he has issues with throws down field. I think if he is only a 1 year player no reason. Not saying I wouldnt take a 1 year but someone that is better.
