Every aspect of the program right now, richt needs to retire at this point...

I'm with you all day man and I think Mark agrees. But its about Jon for him at this point man. I posted in another thread that I think Mark realized he rushed into this job too quickly, right after talking about taking some time away from coaching. His heart is/was still at Georgia and he is still burned out.

That is understandable, but not acceptable. The problem is he knows that if he admits it and retires, Jon's career is OVER. Everyone has seen how poorly our QBs have looked and even Mark knows that NOBODY else wants Jon on staff at QB coach. And if Jon can't coach QBs, what can he coach?

I believe the Jon to OC rumors because again, Jon cannot coach his position. So it makes sense that Richt would let him call plays because its Jon's last and ONLY chance to show he can have a career in coaching. And what better season to give him a shot than this one? We had one of the worst offenses in the nation last season. ANY improvement will be credited to Jon.

If the OC Jon experiment is a total failure, whats the worst that will happen? Mark gets fired and collects his buyout? Jon preforms exactly how we all know he will? At that point Mark the father (he's not Mark the coach anymore) would be able to say he did everything in his power to help Jon succeed, while collecting how many millions in buyout money?

So again, I agree with you and I think cmr does too. And its exactly why he's about to give Jon his chance.

That family has enough money and connections that they don’t have to sweat a job for one of their sons.

This is pure arrogance and hubris.

Sweat? No they don't have to sweat. But Richt wants Jon to have a career in coaching. He's said as much. Jon's definitely not getting a P5 coaching job anywhere else. Its doubtful he could a d1 coaching job anywhere else either.

Like U said, the Richts aren't hurting for money. Mark clearly doesn't care about winning. Jon is the last thing he gives a **** about at this point.

Mark Richt has former coaches and players all over D1. I can’t believe that he can’t find someone to give him a spot.

How in the **** does Richt one up Golden. I mean this **** is hard to even comprehend. The U is going to have to face facts. These kids coming through now have never seen a great UM team besides watching dad's old dusty VHS tapes. Their U is a 7 to 8 win team that usually ends up in some crap bowl game. College football is an arms race and we're over here throwing rocks while the Bama's of the world are dropping bombs.

Everytime I check this board, there is more bad news. So maybe if I stop checking it, there won't be anymore bad news?
