Seven Mcgee To (Visit) Miami

Absolute class by both sides, McGee for being transparent about what he wants, and Mario for transparency and not immediately offering shows how he looks beyond his loyalty.
I think this is why if numbers are close we will continue to win battles against the guys up north. What’s more important if the money is close sitting in a lambo for 15 minutes or dealing with some one on the daily who you know is being honest with you.

Not sure why we couldn't just use him as a return specialist and keep all our other players from doing it? They do it in the NFL with just a 53 man roster.
NFL teams have practice squads. They have IR they can utilize when a player sustains a long term injury. They can sign free agents in the middle of the season. They can make trades up to a certain point.

None of that exists in the College game. You have to be smart with roster spots because there is no going back once the season starts.

We can have a "practice squad" also with walkon players and NIL. I think UGA's roster, including walk ons, is 130+ this year. We basically have an unlimited roster size.

Y’all would take anybody lol. We are going to have 4 slots next year with x, smith, Robby, and ray ray. There is no need for a 5th when we are lacking at outside receiver

Totally different circumstances. NFL practice squads are filled with players with NFL experiences or young players that have talent but aren't ready yet. There are tons of hall of famers / pro bowlers that were on practice squads at some point.

Also, most walk-ons don't receive scholarships. Good luck getting players that have P5, G5, and even FCS scholarship offers to come to Miami and pay $55K/year.

Another waste of scholly if he was taken just like the FSU DT Jackson. So many here trash guys who are leaving and say they belong at G5, yet guys like McGee and Jackson have done absolutely nothing at this level and so many are okay with them as takes. Nobody is beating down McGee or Jacksons door.

And spare me the talk of being simply depth guys. There are PLENTY of options in the portal who can be just that, who have produced more or at the very least have more upside. These dudes are JAGS on there best day.

Don't know why this is tough for people to comprehend.

We'd love to have 120 guys. Everyone would. UGA is a much larger school and their walk-ons are footing a much smaller bill, if any (I'm willing to bet many have partial or full "academic" scholarships).

That's not so easy at Miami.

At this point the height issue for outside receivers is a moot point. You need guys that can get separation. No doubt in my mind that Ray Ray can win outside.

This guy is probably better than X and smith. Its not fair to compare him to high school players. This was also a running back, so he can used all over the field. I think the staff can find a lot of ways to use this kid. We are beyond desperate for playmakers on offense, so there is no reason not to take him.

Lmao! Better? You are basing this off of what exactly?

Let me guess, it's the insane production in his 2 years at Oregon, right? I mean, 18 receptions for 151 yards at 8.4 YPC with 0 TDs is definitely impressive. Or better yet, 17 carries for 50 yards at 2.9 YPC with 1 TD is top tier.

Oh wait I forgot, he's a special teams demon. I mean, 2 punt returns for 19 yards and 11 kick returns for 182 yards at 16.6 per return is freaking elite!

in what world does the above PUTRID results say playmaker?

You act like Smith and X produce here. X is one of our starting wrs and he only had 240 yards through six games this season. Oregon has a pretty crowded wr room, so he is see significantly more burn if he transferred here. We are desperate for playmakers on this offense, so I don't see why we wouldnt take him. People on this site have no busines telling this kid "he isnt good enough to play here"

Yikes. X produced double what Mcgee did in 2 seasons at Oregon, in just 6 games this year, in a God awful offense with a God awful OC. X ***** all over McGee. Smith also outproduced McGee in this same trash offense and is a far superior return man.

McGee hasn't been able to get on the field under two different HCs in two seasons. He's not even a JAG, he is less than that. For you to say otherwise is comical.

I agree about the height thing but I think ray ray skill set is made for the slot. Robby I do think he can play outside

They really don’t need to say anything like that because mario is basically saying that for them. if he was any better than we already have he’d have an offer. Mario would rather have guys the on the roster, dudes he’s never corched from the portal or high schoolers at this point.

Mario recuited him to play RB at Oregon. Is there an indication he'd play WR here?

This is an awful take.
