Settle A Debate Quickly

Yes ~ Unfortunately when he left Southwest we had absolutely no chance from that point forward. Prior to his transfer we were way behind, but we had a punchers chance. To much retardation from the previous regime to sway LJ.

Yes. I believe the "other DB" who did NOT have a Miami offer was Greg Reid. Shannon idiocy. He did not like the small corners.

I thought he did... but I am probably thinking of Greg Dent. Wasn't Dent the one who committed and then flipped to FSU as soon as they offered?

Yea that was Dent.

Joyner had an offer but he didn't really care for UM and grew up an FSU fan.

Wrong Wrong Wrong.... Wanted to stay home. We sucked and Randy was a Douch when the two got together at STA. He had an offer and IF Randy was cool, he was a pull.

We made a late push for Reid. Offered him late, too late unfortunately. IIRC people thought he was going to Georgia. Wasn't he the one that Urban got all emotional about being lied to?

You followed recruiting in grade school?

Can't let these kids get away.

Stop.

Kids have been leaving S FL forever and that will continue to happen.

Yes, I actually did, but that's not the point. He told Genron before he had any offers that he wanted to leave Miami

Shannon offered Greg Reid late the kid had already been committed to his school of choice...and single handedly almost lit Miami up the next year with good defense and punt returns...

Doesn't matter what they have always been doing. I don't mean them all, but UM has to keep MOST OF THEM. Do you not agree and would that not benefit UM? amari Cooper, Rashad Greene, Alex Collins, Kelvin Nenjaim, Matt Thomas, Denver Kirkland, Marcus Roberson, Tarean Folston, Leanord Williams, Eddie Jackson, Rashard Robinson, Etc..... Have all had an impact for the teams they played On. Without some of them, those teams wouldn't be where they are. Is that not the truth? Let's be real, and not sugarcoat **** for a min. Just a few of those kids make UM better, and the teams they currently play for worse. Fact.

When Howard built the State of Miami he said we never could keep 'em all at home, but he was determined to try. He was on the cusp of success in finishing that wall when he left at the end of the first NC. I don't think we would have ever kept them all at home. There was no way. We tried, but FSU would come in with their Soprano lies, God knows if there was money, and the promise of non-stop 24 hour FAMU sistahs and probably small-town blondes. Many of the south Florida kids they got back in the day disappointed: Paul Moore, Sterling Palmer, Keith Carter...even Lamont Green. I don't really have the feel for south Florida that I had back in that day, since it is hard to just follow all the schools and player, and they keep jumping around more and more. Plus the community corruption, with the "mentors" and street agents, and maybe underpaid HS coaches on the take, it is a very difficult scene, it seems. Yeah, we gotta do our best but we've got a tough fight in our own territory.

Would FSU be this good without the luck of pulling an extraordinary freshman QB who might be the best or one of the best in the country? How often does a HS kid come in BCS-ready? Where would they be with one of the ordinary goofballs that they had in line, Trickett or the other guys? They just identified an exceptional kid and had a lot of luck besides.
