Serious Question about Blake James

Blake James hired Mark Richt and Manny Diaz. One was one of the hottest coaches on the market at the time and the other had proven he could quickly turnaround one of the worse defenses in college football.

I mean who the **** did you expect him to hire? With our pay, who were we supposed to hire? We don't have the money to hire a proven P5 winner. Our only two routes are successful coordinators or successful G5 coaches.

You literally just typed an instance where we had and spent money to hire a proven P5 winner, Mark Richt....

We took zero phone calls and interviewed no one this time around. Mullen and Leach have both won double digit games at P5 schools and tried to land this job twice and we said no.

What in the **** are you talking about?

Neither Mullen nor Leach has won ****. On paper, Richt is a better hire than both of them.

1. You claim we don't have the money to hire a proven P5 winner, a couple years after we hired a proven P5 winner and gave him 4 million a year (3rd highest in the ACC).

2. They haven't won ****? What has Manny won?

3. They both have the same amount of titles as Richt.

4. They were each coaching at garbage programs doing more with less-- ironically the exact opposite of what got Richt run out of UGA.

Since you seem to be new here, I'm gonna help you out...

Things CIS Knows:
1. There's plenty of money
2. Everybody wants the job
3. All the top talent would forget about $ if we win 10 games
4. Manny Diaz is a complete failure
5. Miami football is easy to fix if the right people would just listen

1) Exactly we hired the best coach we could for 4M. It takes more than that to win, especially with the players we recruit of south Florida.

2) Many quickly turned around the defense. It wasn't perfect, but he clearly was the driver of that. If are not going to spend mega-money for a coach then you got to find the right coordinator. (UGA)

3) The perception at the time from our fans was that Richt would perform better at Miami because of the talent difference.

4) Are you talking about Al Golden? I mean, he did a pretty good job at Temple.

What is even more impressive is that a school (Miami), who is not known for developing offensive lines is going to suddenly turn a bunch of freshman into All-American linemen in 6 months.

The only thing I know for certain is that the coaches don't read CIS, cuz if they did they'd have fcking known that smash-mouth football wasn't going to work.

The main thing we all know is that Blake James sucks and the mighty Chippewa D held Miami to only 17 points.

Reasonable fans just want average Oline play and to utilize their strengths. Their athleticism, not playing power run football. Pretty common sense. Also there are plenty of non freshman and have been for years who don’t get developed into sh*t. Donaldson could quite possibly be playing worse now than he did as a true freshman. What is your age related excuse for that?

No we DIDN'T hire the best coach for 4 million...You cannot be serious...

does anyone seriously believe that any other major school would even consider much less hire Blake James to head their athletic dept ?

Miami is a charity. We employ people that nobody else would seriously consider hiring. We consistently give money to the unemployable and never look back. We may be one of the best charities in the country.

there is alot that is wrong here.

Blake didnt hire Richt by himself.

Richt was a RESPECTED coach but wasnt one of the hottest on the market. Only UVA was seriously looking at him. He was a burned out perennial underachiever.

Manny did turn our defense around but in coaching circles his scheme is not well regarded. He has always been picked apart by good OC's.

Money WASN'T an issue when Richt left. Richt was essentially pushed out. Money was there for Mario's buyout and blake ran and hired manny. Blake OWNS the manny hire.
