Campbell would have been great 3 years ago. Iowa State just raised his salary by 1.4 million. He now makes 3.5 million in Ames, Iowa?!? Oh and they invested an additional 1 million into his assistants.

No way Miami will be able to make him an offer that pulls him from that. Unfortunate for us because he is an incredible coach. I get to see it first hand living 45 minutes from Ames.

What could have been - makes me sick.
 
Here's the way I'd start the next coaching search.

Get all the board members to write down who their #1 choice is and immediately eliminate that option.

Just by doing that we'll improve our chances.
 
I think if Mork Rick would just man up and hire a OC he would be ok, i never much cared for his coaching like most, but if he were to hire Kendall Briles or Dorsey i think it would solve alot of his problems. What amazes me is all the folks here who thought he was gonna change from what he is and what he did at UGA, he is the exact same, and using 30 year old plays pretty much proves that

I understand Kendall Briles.

Dorsey? I know he’s a Canes hero but nothing on his resume says an assistant AD at FIU would be a high quality OC.

No one else will do. Nick is the only real football coaching god in existence. Place no other football demigods before him.

With anyone else we're taking a chance. Everyone else will go through growing or adjustment pains and as everyone knows ...we're impatient, and hate pain.

He's the only one that can instantly satisfy this fanbase .....only like at Bama our fans will have to contribute some $$$ to help pay for his salary beyond what the University can pay....hopefully that goes over more smoothly than giving $$$ to the IPF.

Want to win immediately?....that's without a doubt the most certain path....anyone else will require restarting and living with some pain for a while
 
Hiring a quality OC would change this whole team! As have the talent just get and OC to utilize them

Butch would literally laugh in our faces for asking him to come here after the last coaching search.

As for an OC, I think maybe Hugh Freese would be a good idea. I don’t care that he was caught banging prostitutes at Ole Miss. I want him as our OC.

Dorsey has never been an OC, only a qb coach for the Panthers. Why does his name keep getting brought up for the position? He's not even an offensive coordinator at "mighty" FIU, but people want to bring him on at Miami. Might as well keep Thomas brown.

I KNEW that was a sh*t hire from the get go and would come back to bite Oakland but everyone had their heads up their a** thinking a man who was average and hadn't coached in 10 years would bring them back. Folks called me a bandwagoner. Fans are stupid.

One could only hope. The only job he might come back for is to be the Head Ball Coach at Miami. For a couple years then back to the pros
