Seems Polendey has passed Irvin at TE

REALLY??

People ripping Irving because he isn't his dad and he isn't Njoku.

He's a good third down target and situational player. He was never overly athletic or a great blocker and I don't think he ever will be. We don't need to kill him for that.

No, people are ripping him because he doesn't appear to be trying very hard. If you doubt that, look at how much fat he's carrying...there's no way the staff wants him looking like that. He's got the tools and the depth chart is clear in front of him so if he isn't starting that's on him.

TE is a major concern unless Jordan is ready immediately.

And kick Irving's *** off the team already if he's not going to take this seriously. NO MORE LEGACIES!!!!

Al Blades Jr. would like a word.

But I do get your point. Nearly every recent legacy we've had hasn't worked out. In fact, few have even been solid contributors.

LOL at attacking a guy like Irvin . Why don't we let this young man's career play out before pronouncing him D.O.A.

Really???

It would be crazy to make that a blanket policy. You mean you'd really turn down a good prospect because he was a legacy??

There are lots of reasons to go after good legacy prospects the 1st being that they already have ties to the U.

Lots of prospects don't make it here at Miami for lots of differing reasons, none of which is simply because they are legacies. being a legacy doesn't mean you're doomed to feeling entitled or not giving your full effort. Every prospect is different.

We knew Irvin was a "tweener " when we recruited him...too slow for a WR, too small for a TE. Seems his problem is that he hasn't put on the right kind of weight ( more fat than muscle) He still has a chance to turn it around, and yes I'm disappointed that he didn't fully take advantage of his opportunity to contribute here. because the door was wide open..

Still, I disagree with a NO LEGACY policy approach 100%

Marvin Hagler would say that Irvin Jr slept his whole life in silk pajamas. He doesn't need football and it shows.

He can be a servicable back-up/depth guy but if he's your starter, well....

i think the Irving thing is overstated. Just based off of 5-10 mins at the beginning of practice means absolutely nothing. They didnt even hit the transfer or juco market for a te so he cant be that bad.

Based off of some of the practice clips ive seen he is in front of the line in team breakdowns.(typically struggling guys arent that enthusiastic). Would rather wait to see how spring goes....and the whole he is out of shape thing is misleading considering you almost have NO CHOICE but to be in shape in off season MANDATORY workouts. You aint skipping days, your not missing a lift. Its hard to B.S. the off season program...Now from the summer you can gain weight or not be in the best of shape...but in the winter/spring mode...your likely in optimal shape with the diaily lifts/workouts.

Maybe because Trump is 67? Wasn't he a State wrestling champion in high school? He probably couldn't pull that off now either. Let's see Njoku pull off a 36" vertical after he starts collecting Social Security.

He was not a state wrestling Champ. He didn't even make his varsity team.

Can see Langham getting some pass catching snaps at TE this season
