Seeing it Live in person

Tells you we simply are a bad team.
1. Poorly prepared
2. Poorly coached
3. Not alert to basic football principles

If Ga Tech has to throw more than twice, they usually lose. Well they threw 4 passes and connected on three.

Our receivers other than JT4, seem to be stuck in the mud. I will say that NP5 appears to be a gamer. Nonetheless, we are a very poor team.

I froze my @## off in the ATL for this putrid performance. It’s not totally on the Corches. The players own 75-80 percent of this dumpster f##%.

It is simply painful.

I was there too and agree with a lot of what your saying, and Perry is tough but made some decisions in the passing game that should be giving us fans a lot of concern.

You don’t think they coach holding on to the football and staying on side? Asking for a friend

They don't hold anyone accountable for it. Willis, Mahoney, Donaldson, Poope, Dallas, Thomas should be yanked off the field after egregious mistakes.

Are the players playing up to their fullest capabilities? Probably not. They can play better, but why would you put in the effort for this abomination of a coaching staff when the season is basically over? It's not fair the defense has to continuously bail out the combination of an ancient, ineffective (to put it lightly) offense combined with undoubtedly the worst special teams unit in all of P5. Why should wide receivers try to create separation if the defense knows exactly what routes are being run coupled with the fact that our offensive line won't give the quarterback more than 3 seconds of time in the pocket? And when Malik was QB, why try and get open if EVEN WITH TIME, the Quarterback can't properly hit you in the numbers?

I know I know you should always give your best effort blah blah blah, but in today's age, kids give up all the time when there's no goal in sight. Pitt had already basically clinched the coastal and the season was lost when Richt yanked 'Kosi against UVA. It all falls back on the coaching staff not properly managing the team, the inability to coach up talent and teach proper technique, and playing upperclassmen over your more talented underclassmen just because. Now Richt is going to hear it from the BOT, AD, and especially fans. No father wants to hear their son repeatedly attacked on social media and message boards, but he brought that on himself for making a lazy and ineffective hire. No coach wants to admit he sucks at calling plays, but the proof is literally on the scoreboard. If you can't score 28+ continuously in today's game, you don't deserve to be a Top 15 team.

I got news for you, after what I saw last night, Malik isn’t the only QB who doesn’t hit people in the numbers or miss wide open wide receivers.

This team is extremely undisciplined, that comes from the top down. They only team that I see that constantly shoots it’s self in the foot as much as the Canes is the semenNoles. It is no coincidence they both suck as bad as they do. We need more than just an OC and QB coach. We need a new head coach. This team is getting worse and worse with every game we play.

I agree, however the games are not played on paper. The game is played on the gridiron. Many of our players appear to have lost their fire. You can’t see it on tv, only at the stadium can you see the body language of the players.

They are a direct reflection of their head coach. No other sport do team mimic their head coach like College Football. The mindset of the HC directly trickles down to every player on the team.

This. That is why we continue to see critical mistakes by players over and over. No one is held accountable on this team. Not the coaches, players, no one. That’s why you see unnecessary personal fouls by our DT at the end of Va game, 3 fumbles by DJ, jumping off sides, interceptions, dropped balls, muffed punts, dropped returns etc.. this team is garbage.

I don't think I've ever seen a more undisciplined Canes team in my life. And it hasn't just gotten like this. We have not been right all season. Other than the G5 cupcake games, I cannot point to one single game where I can say we played Canes football from the beginning to the end.

Something happened in the off-season. Don't know what, but it bled over into the season and has carried on week to week. The team was not ready for this season at all. Stupid mistakes. Poor decisions. Just outright bad play. Sloppy penalties. Just a poorly coached team with a disaster Offense and Special Teams and the effects have permeated throughout the Defense.

I agree with the earlier poster that Richt sounds and looks like a defeated man who is ready to hang it up. And I honestly think he should because this all comes back on him as the head coach.

Yeah it was incredible when Dallas was back there returning kickoffs after 4 fumbles in 2 games.

It's not like he's a HR threat back there and MUST return them either.

No-one is held accountable it seems.

And why have they lost their fire???

Because their leaders aka coaches: advice, schemes, game plans and play calling is horrible and doesn’t lead to their success at playing football.

This is all true. I can tell you with 100% certainty coaching is the primary reason we are in such a funk. I know many will say the coached don't fumble, muff punts or move before snap. That's true only to a certain extent. By that I mean:

  1. Good OL coaches teach discipline, concentration and technique. They are prepared to know how to recognize and pickup DL stunts, A Gap blitzes, how to squeeze down and more importantly to know their blocking assignments. These kids have not been taught to pull or wall off. They come off flat and stay flat allowing the DLinemen to easily disengage left or right and any pursuit to flow without obstruction.
  2. We know poor special teams coaching not debatable! The one thing all ST coaches focus, emphasize and teach to punt returners is to be back far enough so you can come up to more easily catch the ball. IF THE BALL IS OVER YOUR HEAD OR CAUSES YOU TO TURN YOUR SHOULDERS...GET AWAY FROM IT!
Not sure I totally agree.

I think it's 100% probability.

I disagree to an extent, I played 12 years at all levels and never once did I not give it my all on every play. The coach never determined my effort. I played hard because I loved playing and wanted to win.
Maybe kids are different now days....

what wide open receivers did he miss and perry was hitting players in the numbers. you obviously don't know what your talking about.

Soft *** practices. Soft *** schemes. Soft *** playcalling. Just soft.

Players take on the mentality of their coach. Do you think Saban would put up with the bullshyt we see weekly? **** naw.

I agree with this take (in bold).

Seeing DJ Dallas back on the field after having fumbled 4 times in 5 quarters was a sign of poor player management on the part of the staff. Granted, he eventually pulled him after he looked like a turtle trying to hold onto the ball not even focusing on gaining yards but thats not the point.
