secondary gonna have to step up

The nitpicking on this board has reached epic proportions. They had 0 point and less then a 100 yards before it became a walk on fest. For some of you to be happy I swear they would have had to have negative yards for the game and somehow had negative points, even tho that's not possible.
 
Wakes passing game, QB runs and miss direction stuff will give us some problems. Good test for the defense from an eye discipline, communication and recognition aspect.

Please stop. Geo Lopez is their QB. Do you know who that is? Let me educate you. Davis Warren is probably twice the QB Lopez is. And they scored 6 points.

i think this is the disconnect ... nobody is complaining about famu or stanford for that matter ... but we ALL know what it looks like, we just saw it ... we what type of defense we need and thus far, we're not getting home and it's concerning ... playoff teams don't have wr dropping passes, etc etc

Thanks for educating me but I was speaking more in regards to scheme and how we play it, not physical ability. It will be interesting to see how we react to some of the concepts they use.

What else do you want to talk about, its Wake Forest. Should we just hybernate until we play Notre Dame?

is it accurate that trying to shoehorn press into this structure leaves you open to deep sideline shots since the safety is held guarding the post? or is a potential answer putting a linebacker in the deep middle like the old tampa 2 defenses used to do?
 
defense is fine. its not a different defense.

Heatherman ran a ton of country cover 3 last year. You just didn't notice because the pass rush blew up most snaps. Heatherman's going to send 5 or simulate pressures we haven't had to see yet once we get into conference play.

pretty sure they still think wake is the same wake from a few years ago.

Yea but that's not as much scheme related as it is talent. Keionte, to this day, doesn't get the credit for spatial awareness, play recognition, closing speed & sure tackling. Jakobe was a step behind him these categories but still better than anyone else in the secondary.

And to be clear, until we're tested, this is all moot.

CBs are in deep thirds so they have the widest and deepest guys, should never get beat over top in a deep third tbh. Unless it’s Damari who abandoned his leverage vs Stanford on the out breaking route for first down. Not sure if they were in man or C3 when he got beat overtop late in game.
