SEC to stay at 16. (Plus some realignment intel)

You are one more dumb fuq post away from my ignore list.

I’m gonna be nice and explain it to you:

A conference is essentially a coop or collective, if you know what that is. The ACC conference is completely fuqed without Miami and Clemson and can do little to stop them from leaving for SEC or BGTN. Money trumps all and is completely driving the boat here, hence why Miami and Clemson are sitting at the adults table, versus any other acc team. FSU UNC and UVA are at the teens table.

The tv network known as ACC Network, aka espn, on the other hand holds some level of leverage due to the Grant of Rights Agreement. However I’ve recently been provided some insight regarding the GOR and that’s it’s no where near as iron clad as the average parrot twitter reporter leads people like you to believe.

Basically, the GOR Agreement is not as comprehensive as it’s being made out to be, there are other versions and/or addendum that come into play that scales back or potentially nullifies exist fees. Hence why there is a lot more behind the scenes discussions being had between Miami Clemson the SEC and espn/SECN
Care to share on the possible GoR nullifications?

I could be completely wrong here but I lean toward the idea that we already have something in the works and that is being communicated to recruits. Do you think all these elite recruits we are getting lately would be jumping on board if we were going to be left for dead in a few years? I don’t know man, I feel like it’s being played out behind the scenes.

Having 2-3 super conferences may be the future, but that doesn't mean I have to love it. Take teams like California, Syracuse, SMU, Boise State . . . what actually happens? Do they drop football, become d1aa all over again, form their own division . . .

Yes, I agree. I could see them starting their own division with the 60+ schools that will not be in the 2-3 super conferences.

Not saying theybare wrong, but consistent reporting also says break ACC GoR is gonna cost $500MM-ish for openers and a nasty court battle to bring it down.

Somebody is right, somebody is wrong.
It is Dan Patrick saying this. He's pretty knowledgeable. You can Google: "Dan Patrick Miami and Clemson discussing move to the SEC" and his article will pop up. If enough teams leave the ACC simultaneously, the GOR issue will be resolved. Among other things, there would be no-one left to pay the penalty to. Maryland got their "penalty" reduced by 50% when they left the ACC to join the Big 10. It's also feasible to agree to move, announce it but then delay the actual entry date to further reduce the penalty. There's many different possibilities.

Whatever happens, the powers that be surely recognize that when more schools are involved, it is better for all of college football.

You want the whole country to love the game and you want as many TV markets as you can get. Common sense says they find a way to at least give other schools the impression they have a shot at a playoff birth.

Correct on a mass exodus. I believe most articles have stated that.

Marlyand's departure is what prompted the revisions to the previous and subsequent signing of the current GoR agreement.

I just dont see Miami joining another conference till 2028. They are under contract fo starters, and they have already announced their schedule through 2027. they are starting to advertise these games as well. The ACC wouldn't have gotten ride of the divisions and changed the schedule format if teams were planning on leaving. Ik it sucks to hear, but its the reality.

The future schedules getting announced is irrelevant to Miami and Clemson leaving

Switching to the 3-5-5 scheduling was purely done to give ACC the best conf champ possible in hopes of getting into the playoffs, and earning bigger tv dollars

I’m done teaching and explaining things to you

But Miami has also been advertising their schedule a lot as well. And the ACC is going to make it a nightmare for these teams to leave. If there was any movement, it would have already happened. I don’t really see is leaving until our contract is over
