The SEC has taken this thing seriously from the beginning. When Saban is cutting mask PSAs its a sign of sobriety and leadership. They’re doing it right. 3rd-party testing? That’s the real deal.
And, Saban predicted, that wearing masks = playing football. The SEC has taken this thing seriously from the beginning. When Saban is cutting mask PSAs its a sign of sobriety and leadership.
The SEC's Return to Activity and Medical Guidance Task Force has now recommended a third rapid diagnostic test each week for close-contact sports.
The SEC says it will coordinate centralized testing for each of its 14 schools through a third-party provider to "ensure consistency in surveillance and pre-competition testing."
Additionally, the SEC task force recommended that the league's cardiac evaluation mandate for confirmed infected student-athletes include a troponin-level blood test, electrocardiogram, echocardiogram and a medical evaluation by a physician before they return to play.
They have and now they’ve added a third weekly test. Additionally any player testing positive will be subject to a more involved cardiac work up.The SEC has taken this thing seriously from the beginning. When Saban is cutting mask PSAs its a sign of sobriety and leadership.
I have been told that Alabama high school football is starting this week with NO testing whatsoever. Buckle it up and play. And, Saban predicted, that wearing masks = playing football.
But the 3rd-party thing is huge. It ensures that Smart’s kids are being tested like Kiffin’s kids and vice-versa.
Good call. Most schools are third party for students, in house for athletes. And, Saban predicted, that wearing masks = playing football.

Some people are just clueless. They want one incident to effect billions.Sucks. Good idea for him to shut it down.
Did you think they should shut football down when Richards, Young, and Wilder got neck injuries? Football has never and will never be a safe sport
I’ve seen questions like this for the last few months. Too bad you didn’t have enough intelligence not to ask it.Sucks. Good idea for him to shut it down.

It's only huge for the teams that aren't trustworthy. Who do you think more likely to try to pull a fast one, Miami or Alabama? And, Saban predicted, that wearing masks = playing football.

How the **** would I know? Coral Gables has managed to tally what, zero tests…in one of the highest COVID transaction areas in the US?It's only huge for the teams that aren't trustworthy. Who do you think more likely to try to pull a fast one, Miami or Alabama?
Yup, with transparency and information not seen at other places. It's very possible and highly likely that because of being surrounded be Dade and having a public health mindset, UM has avoided the Covid scourge. How the **** would I know? The point is that even the ACC should have thought of this — if not the NCAA (if they were worth a ****). It’s about being comprehensive; allowing everyone the comfort (false?) to believe that every possible precaution is being taken to ensure a season will be played and the student-athletes will be protected. It eliminates the need to worry about the idiocy of FSU and VT. And, if UM — or another school — is the paragon of COVID-19 policy then everyone sings from the same song book.Yup, with transparency and information not seen at other places.
