No, I think they did it so an 8-4 SEC team will get picked over a 10-2 ACC/Big XII team and possibly a 9-3 B1G team.

That was probably the case regardless -- 9-game SEC schedule or not.

Any future UM-UF games most likely come in either the CFP or the inevitable "B1G-SEC Challenge" that ESPN and FOX will bankroll
